Howdy all. I recently purchased a holodeck from the "Holodeck Superstore" and consider it the most important innovation in use of SL space that I have seen. If you haven't seen it, you can read an article about it [url=http://slnn.com/index.php/article/about ... l:1v52xpf2]here[/url:1v52xpf2]. Basically it's a room that has a panel on the wall that automatically rezzes furniture and decorations so that the single room can become any of a number of rooms: a garden, an office, a lounge, a meeting room, etc.
Why not use a large holodeck as the main place for public meetings, with options to quickly change from church to rathaus to courtroom to ballroom to lecture hall, etc.? It seems to me that it's very rare indeed that more than one public building is in use at a time. This would enable us to have a thriving public space at great prim economy, while freeing up more land for tier-paying residents.
Further, it is a genuine use of SL space that is different from RL space.
It's refreshing to write about something other than the Judiciary on these fora.
