RA Commission to Gauge Citizen Interest in Sim Purchase

Post by Rosie Gray »

If you haven't already done so, all current CDS citizens are invited to complete the survey regarding possible sim purchase and themes here: http://portal.slcds.info/index.php/orig ... /citizens/

After the survey collection is closed, I will organize meetings in-world to discuss further. Anyone who would like to be involved in this process, please let me know as I would value your assistance.

Now that the commission survey has been completed - you can read the results here: http://portal.slcds.info/index.php/orig ... /citizens/ - it's time to have some in-world meetings to discuss what the survey has indicated, and catch any other thoughts that citizens may have.

Meeting time one: Wednesday Feb 15th, 9:00 am - 10:30 am, SLT
Meeting time two: Friday Feb 17th, 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm, SLT
We will meet in the Kirche at Neufreistadt

After these two meetings we can see where we are at, and if there are interested people that haven't been able to attend to see what time frame might accommodate them.

Many thanks for your participation and interest! I will post this to a notice in-world as well.

Post by Beathan »

Thank you.

My take away from this is that "Bavarian theme" and "it doesn't matter" are the two choices that received more support (although under 40%) than opposition. I think we can rule out Alpine or Roman theme expansion. I note that the option of adding an entirely new theme was not included -- but I think that was intentional because we don't want to clutter our thematic integrity still further. Also, we have one Bavarian themed sim, while we have two each of Roman and Alpine -- so adding a Bavarian themed sim provides nice balance.

This means we are on track for an expansion of NFS. Two conceptions for such an expansion have been proposed (to my knowledge). Pat has proposed a straight-out NFS east, with certain public buildings and with a slight adjustment of the usual mix of commercial to noncommercial space (given the recognition that commercial space underperforms residential and public space). I have proposed an theme of a Nineteenth Century German University -- called Universität Neufreistadt -- with residential spaces in the form of professorial and student housing and public spaces as lecture halls and seminar rooms which we can use for educational activities and hopefully attract users by having that functionality.

Am I missing something or someone's proposal?

Beathan

Let's keep things simple enough to be fair, substantive enough to be effective, and insightful enough to be good.

[09:07:03] Trebor Warcliffe: Hi folks
[09:08:01] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is offline.
[09:08:15] Rosie Gray: Shall we get started then
[09:08:34] Shep (shep.titian): Go for it! :)
[09:08:42] Lilith Ivory nods
[09:08:58] Rosie Gray: I'm just going to pull up the survey... I thought we could start with that

[09:10:00] Rosie Gray: there's the link
[09:10:35] Trill Zapatero is online.
[09:10:38] Rosie Gray: sorry I'm a little slow this morning - not feeling very well
[09:10:52] Lilith Ivory: oh sorry to hear that
[09:11:14] Shep (shep.titian): Aww sorry about that .. sure you're ok to go on?
[09:11:22] Rosie Gray: yes
[09:11:25] Rosie Gray: thanks ㋡
[09:11:28] Rosie Gray: just a little slow
[09:11:32] Shep (shep.titian): yw :)
[09:12:05] Rosie Gray: does anyone have any comments about the first question there? anything to add?
[09:12:47] Rosie Gray: you'll note that we only had 22 responses to the survey
[09:13:06] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes:(
[09:13:18] Lilith Ivory nods
[09:13:45] Rosie Gray: and that 13 people thought we should proceed with a purchase... 3 said no
[09:14:13] Shep (shep.titian): However countries become independant on less
[09:14:46] Rosie Gray: less than 13 .... do they?
[09:15:08] Rosie Gray: anyway, we can proceed assuming that the decision is to purchase a sim
[09:15:16] Rosie Gray: otherwise there's no point in us talking about it
[09:15:17] Rosie Gray: lol
[09:15:21] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Why not do a referendum.
[09:15:25] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is online.
[09:16:00] Shep (shep.titian): lol
[09:16:04] Rosie Gray: now, about the themes
[09:16:42] Rosie Gray: anyone have anything to add to the themes topic? It did seem to bring up some different ideas
[09:16:47] Shep (shep.titian): I would take it as a vote of confidence that they are happy with the rest deciding :)
[09:16:55] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes I agree Shep
[09:17:26] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: I would think a referendum would give all the citizens a voice.
[09:17:30] Trebor Warcliffe: Rosie I think it really depends on how many sims we start with.
[09:17:37] Shep (shep.titian): Well I voted carribean/pirate
[09:17:39] Rosie Gray: all the citizens had a voice on the survey
[09:17:42] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is offline.
[09:17:44] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes they did
[09:17:50] Lilith Ivory: well, all citizens had a chance to fill this survey
[09:17:51] Trebor Warcliffe: With plenty of notice
[09:18:08] Rosie Gray: and now we are here to gather any more ideas
[09:18:10] Trebor Warcliffe: You can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink
[09:18:27] Trebor Warcliffe: In my opinion Rosie
[09:18:46] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Realistic Roman.
[09:18:55] Trebor Warcliffe: If we go with one Full SIm the logical choice would be to wrap up the original 5 by going with NFS East
[09:18:57] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: josjoha Resident (4m)
[09:19:10] Rosie Gray: is everyone aware of the original plans for the sims?
[09:19:21] Rosie Gray: hello Jos
[09:19:24] josjoha: hi hi
[09:19:26] Lilith Ivory: Hi Jos
[09:19:33] josjoha: ◕‿◕
[09:19:49] Lilith Ivory: cool Avie :)
[09:19:55] Trebor Warcliffe: The original plans are outdated Rosie
[09:19:57] Rosie Gray: I think that the original plan was to make another NFS sim, Trebor
[09:20:00] Shep (shep.titian): Hi Jos
[09:20:02] Trebor Warcliffe: and they only cover 5 themes
[09:20:18] Shep (shep.titian): ooooh oven ready :)
[09:20:20] Trebor Warcliffe: Most of which arent popular as they once were.
[09:20:21] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Saint Augustine ?
[09:20:26] Lilith Ivory: I´d go for NFS east
[09:20:46] Rosie Gray: I like the idea of filling in that sim as well
[09:20:49] Shep (shep.titian): Why do we have to be boring
[09:20:52] Trebor Warcliffe: For the first one out the gate I agree with Lilith as I mentioned earlier the logiacl choice is NFS East
[09:21:15] Trebor Warcliffe: That would at least wrap up the original plans of CDS
[09:21:18] Rosie Gray: well a new sim would have to blend and compliment what is already here
[09:21:19] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Timo Gufler (4m)
[09:21:22] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is online.
[09:21:24] Trebor Warcliffe: yes and no
[09:21:29] Rosie Gray: hi Timo
[09:21:36] Timo Gufler: hi Rosie and others! :)
[09:21:42] Lilith Ivory: Hi Timo
[09:21:51] Rosie Gray: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByGHT4 ... ZmN2FmYjEw
[09:22:14] Shep (shep.titian): Hi Timo
[09:22:36] Rosie Gray: well we had the most response for the Bavarian theme, out of the original themes
[09:22:49] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes we did.
[09:23:11] Rosie Gray: any more thoughts?
[09:23:23] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes just a second
[09:23:26] Trebor Warcliffe: please
[09:23:27] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is offline.
[09:23:28] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: i think that me and satir didnt fill out the survey and we want to now, did you Timo ?
[09:23:33] josjoha: i'd like a Bavarian more then Roman, just taste
[09:23:43] Timo Gufler: I have not filled out the survey
[09:23:44] Rosie Gray: you were not a citizen then, Cleo
[09:23:49] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: i am now.
[09:23:49] Rosie Gray: and the survey is closed now
[09:23:55] Trebor Warcliffe: well a new sim would have to blend and compliment what is already here
[09:23:59] Timo Gufler: Bavarian and Alpine are my favs
[09:24:01] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: oh so you dont want to knwo what the citizens think ok , noted
[09:24:13] Rosie Gray: Cleo, that is why we are here
[09:24:14] Trebor Warcliffe: That is what Rosie posted earlier and that is true to a certain extent
[09:24:18] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: ok noted
[09:24:20] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Satir DeCuir (4m)
[09:24:33] Rosie Gray: hello Satir
[09:24:35] Lilith Ivory: Hi Satir :)
[09:24:43] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Bagheera Kristan (19m)
[09:24:45] Shep (shep.titian): Hi Satir
[09:24:48] Timo Gufler: Hi Satir :)
[09:24:53] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: satir didnt fill it out either
[09:24:53] Satir DeCuir: hi all
[09:24:53] josjoha: h isatir
[09:24:58] Trebor Warcliffe: Let me know when I can continue
[09:25:39] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Roman for me.. :)
[09:25:49] Callipygian Christensen is online.
[09:26:09] Rosie Gray: we currently have 2 roman sims, and 2 alpine sims
[09:26:23] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Greek then ! is second choice.
[09:26:27] Rosie Gray: but only 1 Bavarian sim, so another would give it equal status with the others
[09:26:43] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is online.
[09:26:51] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: true rosie.
[09:26:53] Timo Gufler: would the Bavarian sim be like NFS inner or outer city?
[09:26:57] Trebor Warcliffe: Raises hand
[09:27:07] Rosie Gray: i guess that is the question
[09:27:07] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Callipygian Christensen (5m)
[09:27:13] Lilith Ivory: HI Calli :)
[09:27:14] Rosie Gray: hi Calli
[09:27:17] josjoha: hi Calli
[09:27:19] Timo Gufler: Hi Calli :)
[09:27:21] Bagheera Kristan: raises hand
[09:27:23] Trebor Warcliffe: If you look at the way NFS is currently laid out
[09:27:25] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Edward Ballinger (4m)
[09:27:27] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: edward incomeing
[09:27:40] Rosie Gray: hello Edward... Bagheera, sorry didn't see you there
[09:27:42] Clara Scanlan (clara.farslider) is offline.
[09:27:46] Bagheera Kristan: hi :)
[09:27:46] Lilith Ivory: Hi Edward
[09:27:52] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Bells Semyorka (5m)
[09:27:52] Edward Ballinger: hello, Everyone
[09:27:53] Shep (shep.titian): Hi Ed
[09:27:56] Timo Gufler: Hi Edward :)
[09:28:02] Lilith Ivory: Hi Bagheera
[09:28:07] Trebor Warcliffe: the logical choice would be to either have NFS East be all in city walls or the other choice would be to make it similar to the current NFS.
[09:28:11] Clara Scanlan (clara.farslider) is online.
[09:28:15] Trebor Warcliffe: The good thing is we make it a double prim
[09:28:21] Trebor Warcliffe: with small parcels
[09:28:31] Rosie Gray: yes good idea about the double prim
[09:28:34] Trebor Warcliffe: similar to current NFS with better prims
[09:28:41] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is offline.
[09:28:42] Lilith Ivory nods
[09:28:52] Trebor Warcliffe: By building NFS East you conclude the original sims
[09:28:56] Rosie Gray: and I personally like the idea of some inside walls, and some outside, as the current on e is
[09:29:03] Rosie Gray nods
[09:29:03] Trebor Warcliffe: Than as we expand we can move onto other themes
[09:29:28] Trebor Warcliffe: right now it would look funny to expand say off of LA when we have NFS just sitting there
[09:29:42] Rosie Gray: obviously if we did NFS east, it would be a full sim
[09:30:07] Bagheera Kristan: raises hand higher
[09:30:15] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes and it allows us some opportunity for public builds
[09:30:20] Rosie Gray: yes Bags?
[09:30:23] Lilith Ivory: and the costs for a puchase might be lower when buying on second market
[09:30:33] Rosie Gray: we aren't being that formal, you can just talk
[09:30:38] Bagheera Kristan: okay, this is just me - but I do want to say my opinion, okay
[09:30:49] Trebor Warcliffe: yes please do Bags
[09:30:59] Rosie Gray nods
[09:31:13] Bagheera Kristan: I have a concern for chosing sim design that is too rigid and I had been thinking...
[09:31:42] Bagheera Kristan: I need to add the caveat that for me, personally, I don't like the Bavarian theme much - but that is personal... that said
[09:31:45] Bagheera Kristan: How popular is the Bavarian sim compared to others?
[09:32:03] Trebor Warcliffe: It has historically been a fully owned sim
[09:32:04] Rosie Gray: it's verypopular
[09:32:10] Bagheera Kristan: and I had been thinking a Venice theme at some point might tie all the sims together because it is very ecelectic
[09:32:13] Trebor Warcliffe: very little vacancy
[09:32:20] Bagheera Kristan: okay, then it is IS just me - okay, nevermind
[09:32:26] Timo Gufler has home in the Baverian sim
[09:32:31] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: is that the theme? or the size of the pllots? id say the latter.
[09:32:44] Rosie Gray: here's my thought about NFS east... because I agree it is a bit restrictive
[09:32:46] Trebor Warcliffe: Thats not saying we want to build 6 Bavarian sims but the logical choicev is to close up NFS
[09:32:58] Lilith Ivory: I´d love to have venice sometimes but imo it makes more sense to start with NFS east
[09:33:07] Bagheera Kristan: okay :) I just wanted to speak my mind :) thanks for listening :)
[09:33:24] Rosie Gray: that we have the NFS east within the walls, but allow some modern buildings
[09:33:29] WhiteRose Irata is online.
[09:33:34] Trebor Warcliffe: modern how?
[09:33:39] Timo Gufler: huh
[09:33:40] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Kim Rongyu had no idea there was a survey . She wants modern italy for the record.
[09:33:52] Lilith Ivory: I´d be fine without modern buildings also hehe
[09:34:10] Lilith Ivory: hard enough to keep the covenant with one time period
[09:34:11] Rosie Gray: make it like an extension of the Medieval bavarian, but some modern, just as a real town
[09:34:40] josjoha: maybe not bad for diversity
[09:34:44] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: explain lilith
[09:35:07] Edward Ballinger: it appears CDS is going towards a Heinz57 identity
[09:35:17] Rosie Gray: not really Edward
[09:35:18] josjoha: can also do a 1900 timezone, not quite modern, not that old
[09:35:27] Rosie Gray: true, Jos
[09:35:27] Trebor Warcliffe: Arent "modern day" bavarian builds reflective of the original Bavarian builds?
[09:35:42] Rosie Gray: I would think so, Trebor
[09:35:44] Edward Ballinger: you're going to be able to go through how many centuries in six sims?
[09:35:48] Rosie Gray: they would still have to fit the theme
[09:35:49] Lilith Ivory: NFS as we have it now was defined as Miedeaval + Bauhaus buildings
[09:36:03] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is online.
[09:36:22] Shep (shep.titian): Bauhaus was'nt that long ago
[09:36:26] josjoha: if it's going to be a new timezone, you may attract a new market of citizens
[09:36:26] Rosie Gray: we'd still have to redo the Schloss
[09:36:32] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: My opinon is NFS stays sold because and only because the plots r small.
[09:36:40] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Bells Semyorka (2m)
[09:36:44] josjoha: wb Bell
[09:36:59] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Rain Ninetails (19m)
[09:37:02] josjoha: my guess is that 1850-1900 will amuze a lot of peeps
[09:37:09] Rosie Gray: lots of people like the bavarian theme
[09:37:11] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: yes jos !
[09:37:12] Trebor Warcliffe: That is one of hte reasons Cleo but I also feel the theme itself is and has been quite popular.
[09:37:13] Rosie Gray: it's a little different
[09:37:14] Lilith Ivory: I´d like to see small plots in NFS east also
[09:37:21] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: how do you know Rosie ? explain.
[09:37:21] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes Lilith
[09:37:27] Trebor Warcliffe: small plots double prim
[09:37:41] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is offline.
[09:37:48] Trebor Warcliffe: I'd ALMOST say nothing larger than 256sqm
[09:37:53] Lilith Ivory: the small plots in CN don´t sell as good
[09:37:53] Callipygian Christensen: praying that you stay connected Bells? :)
[09:37:54] josjoha: there is this whole ' steampunk' thing going around that fwik
[09:37:58] Edward Ballinger: Bauhaus was from the end of WWI until 1933
[09:38:05] Rosie Gray: hehehe
[09:38:26] Rosie Gray: Bauhaus is kind of interesting
[09:38:30] Bells Semyorka laughs, I'm wishing I didnt see one person. LOL, whoops wrong sit
[09:38:34] Rosie Gray: wouldn't like to see it all like that though
[09:38:52] josjoha: Jugendstil ?
[09:38:59] josjoha: that's quite cute
[09:39:03] Malakyte Thorne is online.
[09:39:04] Rosie Gray: what is that, Jos?
[09:39:23] josjoha: uhm, i guess have to look it up on the Internet, it is with curles and stuff, a bit faerie
[09:39:28] Edward Ballinger: if a plot is 256 sqm, how much of that can be built on?
[09:39:29] josjoha: it's a well known German style
[09:39:37] Shep (shep.titian): I found Bauhaus bleak
[09:39:39] Rosie Gray: aah
[09:39:42] Lilith Ivory: art nouveau
[09:39:50] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: nfs is sold but not busy usually
[09:39:53] Trebor Warcliffe: Ed with a double prim sim its 117 prims
[09:39:57] josjoha: Bauhous is this cubic thing right ? together with Jugendstil you could balance it out
[09:40:05] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: when we were in showcase they showed up and left
[09:40:11] Edward Ballinger: I mean, can they build on all of the plot, or just 60%?
[09:40:24] Trebor Warcliffe: The current NFS has it on all the plot
[09:40:31] Trebor Warcliffe: Sort of a dense feel to it
[09:40:31] Rosie Gray: it's not the same covenants as the roman sims, Edward
[09:40:35] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: and small also means cheap, so if you do small expensive ones.. they wont sell as well either. in my opinion
[09:40:58] Bells Semyorka: please something different than Roman
[09:41:00] Edward Ballinger: 16X16m
[09:41:08] Trebor Warcliffe: L$3 per sqm for the purchase of a double prim parcel is not expensive
[09:41:11] Sazzy (sazzy.oh) is online.
[09:41:15] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: its the price. not the size is what i mean. cheap easy , thats why nfs sells to keep a citizenship
[09:41:16] Lilith Ivory: Hi Rain :)
[09:41:17] josjoha: ◕‿◕
[09:41:17] josjoha: hi kitty Rain
[09:41:18] Rosie Gray: hello Rain
[09:41:22] Rain Ninetails: purr
[09:41:24] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: its twice 1.5 is all im saying.
[09:41:49] Trebor Warcliffe: yes it is and twice the prims also, thats why we keep the parcels small so they are affordable for purchase and tier
[09:41:50] Timo Gufler: Linden homes have bit over 100 prims and people like to live there
[09:42:15] Edward Ballinger: they have 512 sqm
[09:42:19] josjoha: i was just in an American country-side sim, we could do an 1800th steamy American country theme
[09:42:28] Timo Gufler: yeah
[09:42:44] Agnes Cecilia (agnes.sharple) is online.
[09:42:54] Trebor Warcliffe: josjoha eventually we are going to incorporate new themes into the CDS but first we have to finish what was started with the original 5
[09:42:58] Lilith Ivory: I´m not sure if a wild mix of themes would make us more popular
[09:42:59] Rosie Gray: we would need a water sim in between
[09:43:09] Rosie Gray: it wouldn't flow nicely otherwise
[09:43:10] josjoha: if we at least stay out of the 20th century, whatever we choose it will retain the historical aspect, which may be nice
[09:43:10] Timo Gufler: I think the look and low tiers are the primary things that make selling NFS parcel easy
[09:43:45] Udo Swashbuckler is offline.
[09:43:47] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is online.
[09:43:48] Rosie Gray: I agree, Timo
[09:43:50] Trebor Warcliffe: And Ed realistically we could have a handful of 512sqm parcels.
[09:44:03] josjoha: Lilith, maybe it should flow over a bit sensible, such as that NFS flows over into Roman with the whole meadow in between as a buffer
[09:44:15] Trebor Warcliffe: If we make NFS East all within city walls I would suggest it
[09:44:27] Bagheera Kristan: One thing, on a technical side, that makes CDS popular I am sure - is CDS is remarkably free of lag compared to most other areas I have been - I'd like to identify how we are doing that and make sure we keep doing it.
[09:44:38] Callipygian Christensen: I think Linden homes don't count the actual house prims against the residents total though - so not a totally accurate way to compare
[09:44:55] Bells Semyorka: that's right Calli
[09:44:57] Trebor Warcliffe: Bags unfortunatly we do that by not having many people in the sims at any one given time
[09:44:57] Timo Gufler: Linden homes have root prims outside of the parcels
[09:45:03] Shep (shep.titian): You;re right Calli
[09:45:17] Trebor Warcliffe: We crashed LA last night
[09:45:36] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: keep up the good work trebor.
[09:45:41] Trebor Warcliffe: thank you
[09:45:53] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Why not do a referendum ?
[09:46:07] Trebor Warcliffe: We had over 100 individuals in and out of LA for yesterday's Ball
[09:46:12] Rosie Gray: why keep asking the same question, when it's been answered
[09:46:14] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Then you get a lot of people ;)
[09:46:29] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: everyone did not answer the survery or know about it .
[09:46:30] Trebor Warcliffe: 42 was the most at one time only because others were not able to teleport in
[09:46:36] Bells Semyorka what question. I am missing some chat
[09:46:42] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: sims have limits.
[09:46:43] Trebor Warcliffe: There was plenty of notice
[09:46:44] Satir DeCuir: I didnt even know there would be expansion
[09:46:45] Rosie Gray: ever;y citizehn had plenty of opportunity to do the survey
[09:47:01] Rosie Gray: if they choose not to participate, that is their choice
[09:47:04] Trebor Warcliffe: If people dont take the time to fill themselves in on information that is easily provided than thats to bad for them
[09:47:16] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Everyone didnt know.
[09:47:23] Trebor Warcliffe: For them to come back and say "I didnt know about it" when it was well known is not our fault
[09:47:28] Rosie Gray: then they pay no attention to notices
[09:47:34] Bells Semyorka: there was notices and forums listings if this was about the expansion
[09:47:36] Trebor Warcliffe: What would you like us to do send a personal email to everyone?
[09:47:37] Rosie Gray: you can't babysit people
[09:47:58] Trebor Warcliffe: Hell they get personal emails to pay tier and they still dont pay their tier.
[09:48:02] Callipygian Christensen: The survey was posted on the forums, was anounced in in world group notices, mentioned in various transcripts of RA etc - people have to take *some* responsibility to stay informed
[09:48:22] Trebor Warcliffe: They know elections are held every six months yet onl y38 people voted for Chancellor out of close to 90 eligible people
[09:48:32] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Ok i understand you do not want to wait. :)
[09:48:37] Trebor Warcliffe: So dont get me sstarted on thsi "they didnt knwo crap"
[09:49:19] Trebor Warcliffe: Im sick and tired of people standing on the sidelines and only wanting to participate when its something that benefits them or something there against
[09:49:39] Bells Semyorka nods
[09:49:43] Rosie Gray nods too
[09:49:47] Trebor Warcliffe: If you want to be involved than you make yourself involved
[09:49:51] josjoha: (let's get back to the sim design question..)
[09:49:58] Rosie Gray: yes, please
[09:50:14] Trebor Warcliffe: Sorry Jos yes lets get back to the point of why were here
[09:50:22] josjoha: ◕‿◕
[09:50:42] Satir DeCuir: but still no reply why not a vote lol
[09:50:43] Rosie Gray: also, there had been some discussion about purchasing more than 1 sim.... perhaps a second one for water
[09:50:50] Trebor Warcliffe: Are we pretty much in agreement that the logical choice for our first expansion should be NFS East?4
[09:50:53] Trill Zapatero is offline.
[09:50:57] Rosie Gray: we have a nice little port but no place to go
[09:50:58] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes there was Rosie
[09:51:04] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: No
[09:51:12] Trebor Warcliffe: I can expand on that idea a little bit if you'd lioke
[09:51:15] Trebor Warcliffe: like
[09:51:15] josjoha: 'm fine with NFS east, and it makes sense to fill that gap in the row of 5
[09:51:16] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: Can we vote.
[09:51:32] Trebor Warcliffe: We're not voting we're discussing
[09:51:43] Trebor Warcliffe: This is not an official government meeting
[09:52:01] Rosie Gray: we could take an informal vote
[09:52:01] Bells Semyorka giggles
[09:52:04] Rosie Gray: no harm in that
[09:52:06] Trebor Warcliffe: Its an exchange of ideas
[09:52:06] Edward Ballinger: shouldn't the vote include all citizens?
[09:52:13] josjoha: ok what we vote on
[09:52:26] Trebor Warcliffe: There is nothing to vote on yet people
[09:52:28] Rosie Gray: let's just have a count right now with who is here
[09:52:30] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: referendums. make a law you can do one mid term.
[09:52:40] Rosie Gray: who would agree to NFS east?
[09:52:43] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: so everyone can vote.
[09:52:43] Trebor Warcliffe: go on Rosie, my apologies
[09:52:45] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: nay
[09:52:45] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is offline.
[09:52:49] Timo Gufler: if we "voted" it would be just a poll
[09:52:51] josjoha: aye
[09:52:55] Trebor Warcliffe: aye
[09:52:58] Lilith Ivory: aye
[09:52:59] Rosie Gray: it is just a poll, yes
[09:53:02] Rosie Gray: and I vote aye
[09:53:03] Timo Gufler: aye
[09:53:06] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: agreed timo its a poll of who is present. not the citizens who care.
[09:53:29] josjoha: yes, informal poll is all : )
[09:53:30] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is online.
[09:53:43] Rosie Gray: anyone else voting nay?
[09:53:48] Trebor Warcliffe: Obviously the 14 citizens in attendance care
[09:53:52] josjoha: i see a majority who is ok with NFS east here, so we could explore that further
[09:54:01] Rosie Gray: yes, agreed
[09:54:06] Edward Ballinger: I don't think that given the proposed size of the parcels that it matters one way or another
[09:54:13] josjoha: whether that actually becomes it or not
[09:54:13] Bells Semyorka is abstaining from any informal poll since I'd like more information before giving an opinion
[09:54:14] Rosie Gray: and Trebor... you had something to say about the water sim idea?
[09:54:17] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: So , because Tor isnt here, he doesnt care ?
[09:54:26] Trebor Warcliffe: Explain Ed please
[09:54:26] Rosie Gray: he filled out the survey
[09:54:43] Shep (shep.titian): I also abstain
[09:54:54] Satir DeCuir: I dont agree neither desagree, but just feels like having other options open, altho yes I missed notices and dont check forums so its my fault on that too
[09:55:07] Trebor Warcliffe: Ed you had a comment or suggestion about parcel sizes? Please explain
[09:55:16] Edward Ballinger: if you sell parcels on which someone can build a 16X16home, you end with a box of a house without style in whatever time period
[09:55:34] Trebor Warcliffe: Can a 256sqm parcel be other than 16 x 16?
[09:55:43] Rosie Gray: where are you getting that measurement?
[09:55:45] Edward Ballinger: it can be 25.6X10
[09:55:58] Trebor Warcliffe: Let me ask you this than Ed.
[09:55:59] Rain Ninetails: 4's
[09:55:59] Edward Ballinger: 16 is the square root of 256
[09:56:08] Trebor Warcliffe: Lets say we keep them all under 512sqm
[09:56:16] Trebor Warcliffe: What type of a variety can we accomplish
[09:56:22] Lilith Ivory: imo those are details we can talk about later also
[09:56:29] Rosie Gray: I agree Lilith
[09:56:34] Lilith Ivory smiles
[09:56:36] Trebor Warcliffe: Its my understanding from Bags that all parcels have to be divisable by 4?
[09:56:43] Rosie Gray: we are looking at the broad stroke now, not the details
[09:56:43] Bagheera Kristan: yes
[09:57:03] Edward Ballinger: you're still limiting it to a functional space in which you basically have to step outside to change your mind
[09:57:20] Rain Ninetails: is it a snow sim? or the altitude is already defined?
[09:57:25] Trebor Warcliffe: Thats something we need to keep in mind than, thank you.
[09:57:48] Trebor Warcliffe: Rain the sim would be NFS East whcih is the completion of NFS
[09:58:05] Rosie Gray: if it is NFS east, then it is a mountain sim
[09:58:13] josjoha: NFS East would then be the existing Bavarian theme ?
[09:58:19] Trebor Warcliffe: yes
[09:58:20] Timo Gufler: naturally
[09:58:32] josjoha: ah ok, so the wall will loop around all
[09:58:40] Rosie Gray: or part of
[09:58:41] Trebor Warcliffe: it would allow us better city planning for both NFS and NFS East
[09:58:43] Rosie Gray: as it does now
[09:58:57] Rosie Gray: and to rebuild the Schloss
[09:59:06] Bells Semyorka: amen
[09:59:07] Rosie Gray: which sorely needs it
[09:59:11] josjoha: then i agree with Lilith that it's better to keep it the same time, which seems to be around 1800 or so
[09:59:14] Trebor Warcliffe: Rosie when you are ready I can expand on the idea about the water sims
[09:59:38] Rosie Gray: it was actually supposed to be medieval, Jos
[09:59:49] Lilith Ivory: Fachwerks are way older
[10:00:05] Lilith Ivory: I´ve lived in one build 1620
[10:00:13] josjoha: ah ok, 1800 villages also looked a lot like that i guess
[10:00:16] Trebor Warcliffe: In RL? Thats awesome
[10:00:20] Rosie Gray: yes, why don't you tell us about the water sims idea
[10:00:24] Lilith Ivory: yea :))
[10:00:25] Rosie Gray: wow nice Lilith!
[10:00:54] Lilith Ivory: was an interesting experience
[10:01:03] Timo Gufler: sounds like those 1620 houses are very durable :)
[10:01:11] Rosie Gray: hehe
[10:01:15] Trebor Warcliffe: The CDS is unique in that we are able to have more than one main theme. Our democracy is what makes us the community
[10:01:23] josjoha: i would guess in a middle ages setting you would see a lot of absolute poverty and destitution, and your basic subsistance farming stuff everywhere
[10:01:25] Trebor Warcliffe: Homestead Water Sims
[10:01:31] Trebor Warcliffe: with islands
[10:01:42] Bells Semyorka: treasure island, aaarrg
[10:01:43] Trebor Warcliffe: would serve multiple purposes
[10:02:19] Trebor Warcliffe: one big purpose would be to serve as a buffer between our original sims and whatever new themese we take on
[10:02:21] josjoha: maybe we could do some of that in NFS-east, a number of med-eaval type farms with their equipments
[10:02:23] Lilith Ivory: I like the idea of a homestead with water and a few island parcels
[10:02:33] Trebor Warcliffe: lets say we want to explore some steampunk sims
[10:02:48] Lilith Ivory: you can make the parcels more than double prim so they don´t need to be too big
[10:02:48] Rosie Gray: or new world
[10:02:57] Trebor Warcliffe: well that buffer allows us to seperate the two groups but they're all under the umbrella of the CDS
[10:03:11] Trebor Warcliffe: yes Colonial America was an idea a few of us have talekd about
[10:03:25] Rosie Gray: that's a fun idea
[10:03:27] Trebor Warcliffe: Some of the early cities of USA
[10:03:34] Satir DeCuir: jamestown!
[10:03:35] Rosie Gray: it wasn't USA then
[10:03:48] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: St. Augustine
[10:03:49] Trebor Warcliffe: St. Augustine, Savanna Georgia, Boston, Philadelphia
[10:04:01] Rosie Gray: Montreal, St. John's
[10:04:04] Trebor Warcliffe: I know Rosie
[10:04:10] Trebor Warcliffe: North America
[10:04:12] Trebor Warcliffe: lol
[10:04:13] Bells Semyorka: im not feeling the colonial theme like visiting liberty square in Disney world
[10:04:13] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: St. Augustine was the first .
[10:04:14] Rosie Gray: yes, thank you
[10:04:20] Trebor Warcliffe: yes it was Cleo
[10:04:32] Trebor Warcliffe: the tricky part in my research is to find the right time period
[10:04:38] Trebor Warcliffe: like St. Augistine
[10:04:47] Rosie Gray has never heard of St. Augustine
[10:04:48] Trebor Warcliffe: really didnt look cool until about the 1800's
[10:04:56] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: I like it too, so its out.
[10:04:56] Trebor Warcliffe: even though it began in the 1600's
[10:05:05] Trebor Warcliffe: no its not out Cleo LOL
[10:05:10] Satir DeCuir: lol
[10:05:15] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: It was the first settlement in the USA
[10:05:21] Trebor Warcliffe: yes the very first
[10:05:27] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: has a cool fort
[10:05:31] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: on teh ocean
[10:05:34] Trebor Warcliffe: yup
[10:05:36] Satir DeCuir: does LL still keep the homestead for water, or they just have the 'normal' homesteads at 125 usd now?
[10:05:36] Rosie Gray: aah
[10:05:37] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: littel town
[10:05:39] Trebor Warcliffe: lot of history
[10:05:40] Edward Ballinger: it was spanish
[10:05:42] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: yes
[10:05:44] Karyan Gaea is offline.
[10:05:47] Trebor Warcliffe: the Fort could be a sandbox
[10:05:48] Rosie Gray: sounds lovely
[10:05:54] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: i t has had several contrtys control it
[10:05:58] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: a brige
[10:06:01] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: bridge
[10:06:05] Bagheera Kristan: don't say sandbox too loud, Rain is here (laughing)
[10:06:06] Lilith Ivory: imo homesteads can be whatever you want
[10:06:14] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: how many countries flew a flag over St. Augustine trebor
[10:06:16] Lilith Ivory: it´s the open Sims that need to be water
[10:06:18] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: bridge of lions..
[10:06:35] Trebor Warcliffe: Can you "DO" anythign with open sims though?
[10:06:43] Bagheera Kristan: St. Augustine was founded by Ponce de Leon, and then burned to ground by the English and rebuilt
[10:06:43] Lilith Ivory: sailing on them ;-)
[10:06:48] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: the fountain of youth is there that ponce de leon was looking for , just like sl
[10:06:51] Timo Gufler raises his eyebrows
[10:06:53] Rosie Gray: not much, they are meant mostly for scenics
[10:06:56] Satir DeCuir: but LL had a light homestead with lower cost, idk if they kept it
[10:07:05] Edward Ballinger: if youth tastes sulphurous, you can keep it
[10:07:07] Trebor Warcliffe: With a homestead island sims I can calculate it at about US$9.50 - 9.75 per 512sqm parcel to cover expenses
[10:07:34] Trebor Warcliffe: Currently MON is at US$10.12 per 512sqm
[10:07:39] Rosie Gray: you cannot have it broken in to 512 parcels
[10:07:44] Rosie Gray: not enough prims
[10:07:45] Trebor Warcliffe: I know that
[10:07:48] Rosie Gray: okay
[10:07:51] Trebor Warcliffe: but thats how I have to calculate tier
[10:07:52] Callipygian Christensen: Please keep in mind that homesteads have avatar limits..possibly script limits too
[10:07:54] Lilith Ivory: all I know is that prims on a homestead are slighly more expensive than at a full sim
[10:08:02] Trebor Warcliffe: yes true lil
[10:08:14] Trebor Warcliffe: to give you a quick comparison
[10:08:33] Trebor Warcliffe: right now NFS, and CN are US$3.25 per 512sqm
[10:08:44] Trebor Warcliffe: AM and LA US$6.50 per 512 sqm
[10:08:56] Trebor Warcliffe: and MON US$10.12 per 512sqm
[10:09:09] Timo Gufler: MON is a beautiful sim
[10:09:21] Trebor Warcliffe: yes it is
[10:09:34] Trebor Warcliffe: A good example of island sim is over at New Toulouse
[10:09:48] josjoha: from an American Colonies sim it's a small step to an American natives sim, which may be fun too
[10:09:50] Lilith Ivory: I agree as I live there ;-)
[10:09:55] Trebor Warcliffe: They seem to have calculated it out properly
[10:10:14] Trebor Warcliffe: Which is the template I worked off of for my plans
[10:10:21] Rain Ninetails: oo sorry, I'm mixed up with the map. Will it make CDS rectangular? 2x3 sims ?
[10:10:35] Lilith Ivory: I need to check that but the parcels are more than double prim
[10:10:45] Trebor Warcliffe: 8.0
[10:10:51] Lilith Ivory nods
[10:11:09] Trebor Warcliffe: You know me and numbers LOL
[10:11:12] Lilith Ivory: imo that´s a way clever idea
[10:11:20] Lilith Ivory giggles
[10:11:47] Trebor Warcliffe: If it was me I would place water/island sims on the borders of LA
[10:12:14] Lilith Ivory: those Islands might sell pretty good
[10:12:18] Trebor Warcliffe: Than you could do a little remodeling of LA to make use of the waterfront
[10:12:31] Trebor Warcliffe: and have a buffer in place for future expansion
[10:12:33] Lilith Ivory: maybe try with one Sim first and see how it works
[10:12:40] Rosie Gray: yes
[10:12:56] Trebor Warcliffe: Thats what I was thinking Lil one NFS East adn one Homestead water/island sim
[10:13:07] Lilith Ivory: I like this idea
[10:13:09] Rosie Gray: I like the idea of some water off of the port
[10:13:09] HonestHeart is online.
[10:13:17] Rosie Gray: I like it too
[10:13:18] Trebor Warcliffe: Any more than that to begin with and I think we'd stretch ourselves to thin as far as workers
[10:13:32] Rosie Gray: agreed
[10:13:42] Rosie Gray: not just workers.....
[10:13:51] Rosie Gray: finances and citizens too
[10:14:01] Trebor Warcliffe: citizens more than finances
[10:14:04] josjoha: byeee, have to go (rl meeting)
[10:14:13] Rosie Gray: bye Jos
[10:14:16] Bells Semyorka: Bye Jos
[10:14:17] Lilith Ivory: bye Jos
[10:14:19] Rosie Gray: I have to go shortly too
[10:14:20] Bells Semyorka: have a good one
[10:14:21] Edward Ballinger: bye Jos
[10:14:22] Timo Gufler: bye
[10:14:27] josjoha: g'luck
[10:14:35] Trebor Warcliffe: thankfully we are pretty solid financially which allows us to expand, not dragging feet mind you, but get work done without losing our asses
[10:14:39] Bagheera Kristan: I have to go too - sorry :) bye :)
[10:14:46] Rosie Gray: bye Bags
[10:14:51] Trebor Warcliffe: Whens the next meeting Rosie
[10:14:53] Bells Semyorka: Ciao Bags
[10:14:58] josjoha: bye Bagh
[10:15:01] CLEOPATRA Xigalia: me too !
[10:15:05] josjoha: bye Cleo
[10:15:09] josjoha: lol, the exodus has started
[10:15:12] Timo Gufler: Bya Bags and Cleo
[10:15:17] Lilith Ivory: bye Cleo
[10:15:18] josjoha: bye kitty
[10:15:25] josjoha is offline.
[10:15:25] Rain Ninetails: meow
[10:15:29] Trebor Warcliffe: Well Rosie said she had to go soon to and she is hte lead person on this
[10:15:53] Rosie Gray: I have another meeting time set for Friday at 4:00 pm
[10:15:58] Trebor Warcliffe: slt
[10:16:02] Rosie Gray: yes
[10:16:06] Trebor Warcliffe: ok
[10:16:15] Timo Gufler: that will be a night for Europeans
[10:16:30] Rosie Gray: that's the idea
[10:16:36] Edward Ballinger: ooooo
[10:16:39] Lilith Ivory: but a friday night ;-)
[10:16:40] Rosie Gray: catch a different time zone
[10:16:41] Timo Gufler: hmmmm
[10:16:48] Timo Gufler: yeah
[10:16:50] Rosie Gray: well there can be another meeting too
[10:16:58] Tuatha Shippe is online.
[10:17:03] Rosie Gray: if need be
[10:17:14] Lilith Ivory: I´m afraid we might need a lot of meetings to work our way through this survey
[10:17:24] Rosie Gray: at this rate, lol
[10:17:30] Lilith Ivory giggles
[10:17:34] Trebor Warcliffe: Well the survey is rather broad
[10:17:35] Timo Gufler: but rushing is never good
[10:17:41] Trebor Warcliffe: agreed
[10:17:56] Lilith Ivory nods
[10:18:00] Trebor Warcliffe: BUT we'd like to break the stereotype of the CDS takign FOREVER to get anythign done
[10:18:07] Timo Gufler: hehe
[10:18:10] Trebor Warcliffe: At least I know I do
[10:18:26] Lilith Ivory: no chance with NFS east as we are talking about this for years already ,-)
[10:18:37] Rosie Gray: we WOULD like to breat the stereotype!
[10:18:50] Timo Gufler: Decision about the Monastery sim took months and had a lot of fighting.... let's hope things could be smoother this time
[10:18:50] Callipygian Christensen: well, one way to move things along might be to come up wiht a descrition of the three most popular choices, then hold an unofficial referendum
[10:18:51] Trebor Warcliffe: But this is the New NFS East idea Lil
[10:18:53] Trebor Warcliffe: LOL
[10:19:18] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Bells Semyorka (2m)
[10:19:22] Rosie Gray: well that's essentially what the survey did, calli
[10:19:30] Callipygian Christensen: you will never satisfy everyone, but that gets the broadest input and gives the most participation in the choice
[10:19:51] Callipygian Christensen: no, the survey said 'waht do you want'..I am talking 'here are the three options'
[10:20:04] Rosie Gray: it also gave the choices
[10:20:07] Trebor Warcliffe: I see the general consensus being NFS East and one water/island sim.
[10:20:17] Bells Semyorka: it also allowed you to give it choices
[10:20:20] Lilith Ivory: I don´t mind having a referendum
[10:20:24] Trebor Warcliffe: Than its just a matter of is everyoen happy with that decision
[10:20:32] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is offline.
[10:20:48] Trebor Warcliffe: Than we work out the details, get all of our ducks in a row and move forward
[10:20:53] Timo Gufler: referendum wouldn't be a bad idea
[10:21:02] Mrs Anna Oxygen (annabel.coveria) is online.
[10:21:09] Trebor Warcliffe: I agree but keep it simple,
[10:21:15] Lilith Ivory: while we keep discussing next election might come anyway ;-)
[10:21:20] Rosie Gray: lol
[10:21:22] Timo Gufler: lol
[10:21:26] Roselys Luminos is online.
[10:21:29] Lilith Ivory: just being realistic ;-)
[10:21:34] Rosie Gray: well... we can call for a referendum
[10:21:37] Trebor Warcliffe: Let me ask this than
[10:22:00] Trebor Warcliffe: Can we call a referendum for eveyones approval for NFS East and 1 island sim?
[10:22:13] Callipygian Christensen: exactly - you can have a dozen meetings, repeat yourselves over and over..someone *still* wont feel they were informed - so put together the 'here is what people seem to want , pick the one you support..and get it done :)
[10:22:30] Trebor Warcliffe: The general feeling is that's what the majority is leaning towards
[10:23:10] Timo Gufler: I think the nfs east and the water sim shouldn't voted as a package
[10:23:12] Trebor Warcliffe: Yes Calli we can't wait around forever for people to decide when they want to become a part of us and contribute
[10:23:23] Trebor Warcliffe: Whats your suggestin Timo
[10:23:26] Bells Semyorka nods
[10:23:28] Callipygian Christensen: I believe any actual official Referendum has to be attached to the next elections..
[10:23:46] Trebor Warcliffe: Thats going to be a waste of time than
[10:23:48] Timo Gufler: give them several options about the next sim
[10:23:53] Trebor Warcliffe: And nothing will get done
[10:23:57] Callipygian Christensen: which is why I think an unnoficila one 'vote for your choice' will be speedier
[10:23:58] Trebor Warcliffe: Timi we did htat
[10:24:02] Trebor Warcliffe: With the survey
[10:24:06] Lilith Ivory: maybe say: do you want both or NFS east or water/islands or nothing of that
[10:24:11] Edward Ballinger: you don't have to wait for an election to buy sims..... that would take forever
[10:24:21] Trebor Warcliffe: Thats why we're talkign about NFS East and a water sim
[10:24:22] Bells Semyorka: were just chaising our tails again
[10:24:25] Trebor Warcliffe: Correct Ed
[10:24:34] Timo Gufler: hmmm
[10:24:46] Trebor Warcliffe: We gave anyone and everyoen interested almost a month
[10:24:50] Rosie Gray: yes
[10:24:55] Trebor Warcliffe: to contribute there thoughts to the survey
[10:24:58] Timo Gufler: my impression was that we were discussion about the next sim, not about the next sims
[10:24:59] Bells Semyorka: I filled mine out the fisrt day
[10:25:02] Trebor Warcliffe: that is why were meeting now
[10:25:05] Trebor Warcliffe: same here Bells
[10:25:05] Lilith Ivory: well, we need to make a decision and than work on the Sim layout before buying one imo
[10:25:12] Trebor Warcliffe: YES
[10:25:14] Trebor Warcliffe: lil
[10:25:20] Timo Gufler: have we forgotten the GMP?
[10:25:23] Rosie Gray nods
[10:25:40] Timo Gufler: it painted the big picture
[10:25:44] Lilith Ivory: there are plenty of cheap used Sims on second market atm
[10:25:50] Trebor Warcliffe: No we havent but the GMP is outdated and only covers 5 ideas that arent very popular at the moment
[10:25:53] Rosie Gray: it's old now, Timo
[10:26:06] Timo Gufler: time for renewing then ;)
[10:26:13] Edward Ballinger: and/or updating
[10:26:15] Rosie Gray: I have to go now folks
[10:26:17] Trebor Warcliffe: If the GMP was brought inworld when it began that would be different
[10:26:23] Timo Gufler: but without a big plan the expansion will be like patchwork
[10:26:26] Edward Ballinger: bye
[10:26:36] Edward Ballinger: it already is, Timo.....
[10:26:39] Rosie Gray: so, I'm calling the meeting over
[10:26:40] Shep (shep.titian): Okies .. hope you're better soon Rosie
[10:26:43] Lilith Ivory: bye Rosie
[10:26:45] Rosie Gray: thanks Shep
[10:26:48] Rosie Gray: ㋡
