[2024/03/02 10:40] Almut Brunswick: Aye. Thank you
[2024/03/02 10:40] Almut Brunswick: 2 Executive Report (Tor)
[2024/03/02 10:41] Almut Brunswick: Since Tor is not here in persona, I will take the burden to present the Executive report
[2024/03/02 10:41] Jerry McNally: : points out for Tori and Bernice that the agenda is also online at https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=10549 and the minutes of the last meeting are at https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=10545
[2024/03/02 10:41] Almut Brunswick: (Your mic is/was open, Kyoko)
[2024/03/02 10:42] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): it is closed now
[2024/03/02 10:42] Almut Brunswick: /me tries to make the same official face like Tor:
[2024/03/02 10:42] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): I'll get that right eventually
[2024/03/02 10:42] Almut Brunswick: "Thank you for this opportunity to report via notecard. I am unable to attend this RA meeting as I have an important RL commitment.
[2024/03/02 10:42] Agatha Macbeth: /me starts knitting
[2024/03/02 10:42] Almut Brunswick: Currently we have 87 citizens in good standing. Land sales are good. Highlighting land on our Discord page as worked.
[2024/03/02 10:43] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): /me twiddles her fingers
[2024/03/02 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Our two newest citizens, Bernice Galtier and Speelo Snook, both of whom are regular participants at our Swing program.
[2024/03/02 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Discord continues to grow in use. We have 53 members. It seems very suited to work groups. I will be reaching out to the SC as to ownership of the server. The SC should have a role in ensuring the server remains under control of lawful officers of CDS.
[2024/03/02 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Our calendar is full of events. First a shout out to Tori Landau and her successful opening of the AI&I exhibit followed by a tour of the MoCA by Nonprofit Commons and a talk about AI and art by Rhiannon Chantnoir and Lyre Lobo. Rhiannon Chatnoir is an artist, designer, digital & social media producer.
Lyr Lobo is a VR/VW researcher, professor, writer, and futurist. The events were very well attended.
[2024/03/02 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Zoey Rhodan also had a well attended opening of her exhibition at her Black Tulip gallery. Yanashvaniva also has a new exhibition at his gallery and is planning a party.
[2024/03/02 10:44] Almut Brunswick: Joanne continues to be a dynamo with very amazing parties at her gallery and will have a beach party today.
[2024/03/02 10:44] Almut Brunswick: This Studio59 ART event will be a Luau and Poetry event. Next weekend we will host the Nonprofit Commons Networking Meeting. This will be preceded by a Government Q&A. Check out the calendar for details. Posts will be forthcoming. https://cdsdemocracy.org/cds-events/
[2024/03/02 10:44] Almut Brunswick: Note that on March 10th the USA (SL) will move to Daylight Saving Time. So SLT will move one hour ahead. I think that will but us closer to GMT. So if you are normally 8 hours ahead of SLT, Europe will be 7 hours ahead of SLT until Europe starts DLT. This will be complicated as I think much of South America will not use DST.
[2024/03/02 10:44] Agatha Macbeth: :(
[2024/03/02 10:45] Almut Brunswick: [We need to consider it later on when scheduling the next meeting]
[2024/03/02 10:45] Almut Brunswick: Looking forward, we have more events being planned. More on that later. Also, the is some mention on us getting a larger place at the Community Exhibition. Nothing definite yet from Madori Linden on that.
[2024/03/02 10:45] Almut Brunswick: I hope to see you all in world.
[2024/03/02 10:45] Almut Brunswick: Tor"
[2024/03/02 10:45] Jerry McNally: That was a great impression of Tor, Almut!
[2024/03/02 10:45] Almut Brunswick: haha
[2024/03/02 10:46] Jerry McNally: Needed more sailing references, I think
[2024/03/02 10:46] Almut Brunswick: With Chicago accent :D
[2024/03/02 10:46] Jerry McNally: lol that I'd like to hear!
[2024/03/02 10:46] Almut Brunswick: I have no clue how a Chicago accent sounds.
[2024/03/02 10:47] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): I have. It's a spectacular Chicago accent\
[2024/03/02 10:47] Agatha Macbeth: Think Al Capone
[2024/03/02 10:47] Almut Brunswick: Any questions so far?
[2024/03/02 10:47] Jerry McNally: I wonder what the larger place at the Community Exhibition is about?
[2024/03/02 10:47] Jerry McNally: Will we have more space for buildings?
[2024/03/02 10:47] Almut Brunswick: Honestly I don't know
[2024/03/02 10:48] Almut Brunswick: We should record that as a question for our next meeting.
[2024/03/02 10:48] Jerry McNally: Yes
[2024/03/02 10:48] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): I thinks Its SLB whatever the year is
[2024/03/02 10:49] Almut Brunswick: Furthermore, I see it with mixed feelings that Discord is more and more playing a significant role for announcements. Since I just use it sporadically, the chance to miss something important is very high.
[2024/03/02 10:49] Jerry McNally: I see it as a supplement to the forums, rather than a replacement, so hopefully no one will miss anything
[2024/03/02 10:49] Almut Brunswick: Yes, Kyoko, but there was nothing further mentioned about SLB.
[2024/03/02 10:50] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): /me ignores Discord
[2024/03/02 10:50] Almut Brunswick: It just happened to me, but it was more a side note than a real concern.
[2024/03/02 10:51] Jerry McNally: I think it's a great addition to what's available, to be honest
[2024/03/02 10:51] Almut Brunswick: Anyway, I propose to continue, especially we can table the next topic.
[2024/03/02 10:51] Almut Brunswick: 3 Artisan Guild Report (Rosie)
[2024/03/02 10:52] Jerry McNally: She gave her apologies last time, do we have any messages from her?
[2024/03/02 10:52] Almut Brunswick: There was no AG meeting since the last RA meeting, so I don't know about any activities and progresses.
[2024/03/02 10:52] Almut Brunswick: Not that I would know of.
[2024/03/02 10:52] Almut Brunswick: 4 Old Business
4.1 Website Refresh Project
[2024/03/02 10:52] Jerry McNally: Ok, that's me
[2024/03/02 10:53] Almut Brunswick: Jerry, can you give us an update?
[2024/03/02 10:53] Jerry McNally: Sure. I've updated the Locus Amoenus covenant at https://cdsdemocracy.org/land/locus-amoenus/locus-amoenus-covenant/
[2024/03/02 10:53] Jerry McNally: but haven't quite got round to updating the general one yet, at https://cdsdemocracy.org/land/general-covenants/
[2024/03/02 10:54] Jerry McNally: RL has been getting in the way
[2024/03/02 10:54] Almut Brunswick: I see, but that all looks promising
[2024/03/02 10:54] Jerry McNally: And I've not made a ton of progress with pulling in more images, but all that's in hand
[2024/03/02 10:54] Jerry McNally: There should definitely be more progress by the time of the next RA meeting, he says confidently
[2024/03/02 10:55] Jerry McNally: done
[2024/03/02 10:55] Almut Brunswick: Just an idea: Would it be feasible to put a TOC on top of each page to ease navigation?
[2024/03/02 10:55] Jerry McNally: Yes good idea
[2024/03/02 10:56] Jerry McNally: I've started to do that with a few pages, but will do that more
[2024/03/02 10:56] Jerry McNally: for instance https://cdsdemocracy.org/about-us/guide-for-new-citizens/
[2024/03/02 10:56] Almut Brunswick: Especially when pages are longer and intended as guidelines, that helps to jump to the section you really want to see.
[2024/03/02 10:56] Almut Brunswick: Nods, exactly like that
[2024/03/02 10:57] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): Nods in agreement
[2024/03/02 10:57] Almut Brunswick: Any further comments to the website project?
[2024/03/02 10:57] Jerry McNally: I want to add in more from the text version of that Guide too, at https://docs.google.com/document/d/13zxRuQcUnhNd-ge2ay27WPORx-UxHApOM2RlVvRWFZk/edit?usp=sharing
[2024/03/02 10:58] Jerry McNally: Rosie added in some useful help guides for the https://cdsdemocracy.org/support/ page
[2024/03/02 10:58] Jerry McNally: So I'll work on that as well, should be done by the next meeting
[2024/03/02 10:59] Almut Brunswick: Great. You may consider to distribute all these chapters on more than one page, but in one section.
[2024/03/02 10:59] Almut Brunswick: Like a Wiki category.
[2024/03/02 10:59] Jerry McNally: yes, good idea
[2024/03/02 10:59] Jerry McNally: if pages get too long, they become cumbersome I think
[2024/03/02 11:00] Almut Brunswick: and hard to maintain
[2024/03/02 11:00] Jerry McNally: /me ponders whether CDS might need a proper wiki setting up, alongside the website..
[2024/03/02 11:01] Almut Brunswick: That depends on 1. how many content we should put in there and 2. how many editors we could win for a CDS wiki
[2024/03/02 11:01] Agatha Macbeth: Yay Sandy
[2024/03/02 11:01] Almut Brunswick: and it shouldn't just double the information of the website
[2024/03/02 11:01] Sandy Burgess: Good evening. Sorry for being late. I was held up in RL
[2024/03/02 11:01] Jerry McNally: Also, another idea I've had is to incorporate the text from Rosie's historical signs into the https://cdsdemocracy.org/visit-us page
[2024/03/02 11:01] Almut Brunswick: Hello Sandy
[2024/03/02 11:01] Jerry McNally: but maybe that's for another day
[2024/03/02 11:02] Jerry McNally: Hi Sandy!
[2024/03/02 11:02] Almut Brunswick: OK, so we conclude that things are on a good way. Thank you, Jerry!
[2024/03/02 11:02] Almut Brunswick: 5 Citizen Concerns
[2024/03/02 11:02] Jerry McNally: You're very welcome
[2024/03/02 11:02] Almut Brunswick: /me looks around. Are there any concerns from the citizens here?
[2024/03/02 11:03] Tori Landau: None here °͜°
[2024/03/02 11:03] Agatha Macbeth: I don't have any concerns but would just like to say a big thank you to Tori and Joanne for all they are doing
[2024/03/02 11:03] Almut Brunswick: I second that!
[2024/03/02 11:03] Jerry McNally: Absolutely!
[2024/03/02 11:04] Sandy Burgess: Seems the citizens are completely unconcerned.
[2024/03/02 11:04] Agatha Macbeth: It is most appreciated
[2024/03/02 11:04] Almut Brunswick: I just pestered Tori with some wishes and proposals regarding the current exhibition, but we needn't to repeat them here in detail again.
[2024/03/02 11:04] Agatha Macbeth: :P
[2024/03/02 11:05] Almut Brunswick: 6 RA Member Concerns
[2024/03/02 11:05] Tori Landau: °͜° Suggestions are always welcome
[2024/03/02 11:05] Sandy Burgess: I too am completely unconcerned
[2024/03/02 11:06] Almut Brunswick: /me is shocked... alright then.
[2024/03/02 11:06] Almut Brunswick: 7 Announcements
* Calendar: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/[email protected]&ctz=Pacific/Los-Angeles
[2024/03/02 11:06] Almut Brunswick: I hope that this is now the correct link :D
[2024/03/02 11:06] Jerry McNally: looks good to me!
[2024/03/02 11:06] Almut Brunswick: 8 Next RA meeting (to be discussed)
* Proposal: Saturday, March 30, 2024, 10:30 AM SLT
[2024/03/02 11:07] Almut Brunswick: That proposal, however, is the Saturday before Easter.
[2024/03/02 11:07] Jerry McNally: Ok, let me just check
[2024/03/02 11:07] Almut Brunswick: I just recognized it after I had posted it.
[2024/03/02 11:08] Jerry McNally: I'm ok with that, but what about everyone else?
[2024/03/02 11:08] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): How about the 17th so I can where my st paddy's day dress?
[2024/03/02 11:08] Almut Brunswick: OK, what about March 17?
[2024/03/02 11:09] Almut Brunswick: I assume Rosie won't yet be back then
[2024/03/02 11:09] Jerry McNally: Yeah, why not?
[2024/03/02 11:09] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): giggles
[2024/03/02 11:09] Jerry McNally: "Yeah, why not?" about the date, not about Rosie's absence...
[2024/03/02 11:09] Agatha Macbeth: XD
[2024/03/02 11:09] Sandy Burgess: 17th is the Sunday and I'll be travelling on that day
[2024/03/02 11:09] Almut Brunswick: I'm fine with it, too, though it is a Sunday again. What about one day earlier?
[2024/03/02 11:10] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): sure
[2024/03/02 11:10] Jerry McNally: Sorry, can't make Saturday 16
[2024/03/02 11:10] Almut Brunswick: and one week further?
[2024/03/02 11:10] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): back to the drawing board
[2024/03/02 11:10] Almut Brunswick: March 23
[2024/03/02 11:10] Jerry McNally: both 23 and 24 good for me
[2024/03/02 11:11] Sandy Burgess: 23rd is good for me
[2024/03/02 11:11] Sandy Burgess: Sunday I'll be travelling again
[2024/03/02 11:11] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): when are Easter and Palm Sunday?
[2024/03/02 11:11] Almut Brunswick: Easter is March 31
[2024/03/02 11:11] Jerry McNally: So Palm Sunday us 24
[2024/03/02 11:12] Jerry McNally: *is
[2024/03/02 11:12] Almut Brunswick: Saturday 23 then?
[2024/03/02 11:12] Sandy Burgess: second 23rd
[2024/03/02 11:12] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): 23rd is OK with me as I am a bit of a pagan
[2024/03/02 11:12] Jerry McNally: Yep, I'm happy with that
[2024/03/02 11:13] Almut Brunswick: Good, and the time will remain 10:30 AM, though we Euros have to observe that it will be an hour earlier then
[2024/03/02 11:13] Jerry McNally: that is *definitely* going to catch me out!
[2024/03/02 11:13] Sandy Burgess: Oh - right - is it that time again?
[2024/03/02 11:13] Almut Brunswick: until it will be synchronized on March 31
[2024/03/02 11:13] Agatha Macbeth: Sadly yes
[2024/03/02 11:13] Sandy Burgess: Does catch me every year
[2024/03/02 11:14] Agatha Macbeth: SO damn silly
[2024/03/02 11:14] Almut Brunswick: yes it is
[2024/03/02 11:14] Almut Brunswick: Useless but hard to abolish
[2024/03/02 11:14] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): what have we agreed on?
[2024/03/02 11:14] Sandy Burgess: 23rd at 10:30 SLT
[2024/03/02 11:15] Almut Brunswick: Saturday, March 23, 10:30 AM SLT. That is 18:30 for Germans and 5:30 PM for Jerry and Tori
[2024/03/02 11:15] Jerry McNally: But maybe Kyoko could still wear her St Patricks Day dress anyway?
[2024/03/02 11:15] Almut Brunswick: Of course!
[2024/03/02 11:15] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): grins
[2024/03/02 11:15] Almut Brunswick: I made a green outfit as well, so we can "reuse" it on this day
[2024/03/02 11:16] Jerry McNally: Maybe we should make each RA meeting have its own colour theme
[2024/03/02 11:16] Sandy Burgess: /me grins. A green Skiing suit?
[2024/03/02 11:16] Almut Brunswick: Well, and then I will put it in the calendar now.
[2024/03/02 11:16] Almut Brunswick: No, not a skiing outfit at the end of March! :D
[2024/03/02 11:16] Tori Landau: /me has noted green dress code for next RA meeting :P
[2024/03/02 11:17] Jerry McNally: A very short and sweet meeting this time
[2024/03/02 11:17] Jerry McNally: Need something more controversial next time, I think
[2024/03/02 11:17] Jerry McNally: /me pokes a stick at the SC
[2024/03/02 11:17] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): Noooooooo
[2024/03/02 11:17] Almut Brunswick: Yes, you may send me your proposals in due time :D
[2024/03/02 11:18] Almut Brunswick: haha, throwing a nest of wasps through the SC window?
[2024/03/02 11:18] Jerry McNally: haha
[2024/03/02 11:18] Agatha Macbeth: Bzzz
[2024/03/02 11:18] Sandy Burgess: We could move the BeeBeeBee party to the next SC meeting
[2024/03/02 11:19] Jerry McNally: Great idea!
[2024/03/02 11:19] Almut Brunswick: "We decided to proclaim Kyoko as the Divine Empress and thus to change the Constitution slightly."
[2024/03/02 11:19] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): I have a bee iutfit with orange toenails
[2024/03/02 11:20] Agatha Macbeth: TMI Kyoko...
[2024/03/02 11:20] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): giggle
[2024/03/02 11:20] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): wings too
[2024/03/02 11:20] Almut Brunswick: "Waldemar Bonsel's last revenge"?
[2024/03/02 11:20] Agatha Macbeth: I don't beelieve it
[2024/03/02 11:21] Jerry McNally: ;cant imagine what Bernice must think of her first RA meeting...
[2024/03/02 11:21] Bernice Galtier: I found it interesting. lol
[2024/03/02 11:21] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): /me looks innocent
[2024/03/02 11:21] Almut Brunswick: Anyway, when we don't have any serious topics anymore, I propose to adjourn this meeting.
[2024/03/02 11:21] Bernice Galtier: Much like business meetings everywhere
[2024/03/02 11:21] Agatha Macbeth: They aren't always this short!
[2024/03/02 11:21] Sandy Burgess: So you'll be on the next RA?

[2024/03/02 11:21] Sandy Burgess: Yep
[2024/03/02 11:22] Jerry McNally: Should make the minutes easier to write up, at least
[2024/03/02 11:22] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): do we have to vote on adjourning?
[2024/03/02 11:22] Jerry McNally: Great stuff, thanks Almut
[2024/03/02 11:22] Jerry McNally: We haven't up to now, Kyoko
[2024/03/02 11:22] Almut Brunswick: Yes, there are covenant revisions going on, but they aren't yet in the stage to require our RA votes.
[2024/03/02 11:23] Almut Brunswick: Well, I admit that I mostly ask around before adjourn, because I also use to call the meeting to order without a vote.
[2024/03/02 11:24] Jerry McNally: /me votes with his feet
[2024/03/02 11:24] Almut Brunswick: hahaha
[2024/03/02 11:24] Sandy Burgess: Thank you and have a nice evening
