[2023/12/16 10:33] Rosie Gray: seeing as it has turned 10:30, let's call this meeting to order
[2023/12/16 10:33] Almut Brunswick: I reached out to Delia
[2023/12/16 10:33] Rosie Gray: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jGd ... sp=sharing
[2023/12/16 10:33] Rosie Gray: Delia told me she can't come until about 11:00
[2023/12/16 10:34] Almut Brunswick: Ah I see
[2023/12/16 10:34] Rosie Gray: hi Tor
[2023/12/16 10:34] Tor Karlsvalt: hi
[2023/12/16 10:34] Moon Adamant: uh, busy agenda!
[2023/12/16 10:34] Rosie Gray: Could someone please volunteer to take the transcription and do the Minutes, since Lilith isn't here?
[2023/12/16 10:34] Tor Karlsvalt: /me counts the chairs and makes a guess
[2023/12/16 10:35] Rosie Gray: don't all put up your hands at once now!
[2023/12/16 10:35] Moon Adamant: lol
[2023/12/16 10:35] Rosie Gray: okay well I'll do it this time
[2023/12/16 10:35] Moon Adamant: i can't, Rosie, sorry :-( (tons of things to do )
[2023/12/16 10:35] Moon Adamant: it would have to wait a while
[2023/12/16 10:35] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2023/12/16 10:36] Rosie Gray: it's okay... I know we are all busy
[2023/12/16 10:36] Rosie Gray: is there anything to add to the Agenda?
[2023/12/16 10:36] Almut Brunswick: still waiting for the document to be opened.. ah now
[2023/12/16 10:36] Rosie Gray: there is a lot on there, but I don't want us to forget things
[2023/12/16 10:36] Rosie Gray: we can always table them for the next meeting when we come to them
[2023/12/16 10:37] Moon Adamant: sure, we can always table stuff
[2023/12/16 10:37] Rosie Gray: so, anything anyone wants to add?
[2023/12/16 10:37] Moon Adamant: it looks fine to me
[2023/12/16 10:37] Almut Brunswick: I propose to type the already achieved decisions in a copy of the agenda
[2023/12/16 10:37] Almut Brunswick: The agenda is fine for me, too
[2023/12/16 10:38] Rosie Gray: what do you mean, Almut?
[2023/12/16 10:38] Moon Adamant: or post the agenda to forum and reply with the decisions
[2023/12/16 10:38] Rosie Gray: well that's what Minutes are for
[2023/12/16 10:38] Almut Brunswick: I mean when it is foreseeable that we don't cover all points today, we could at least put the results in the document
[2023/12/16 10:38] Rosie Gray: they capture the decisions
[2023/12/16 10:39] Almut Brunswick: Yes, of course... but then it is an agenda for more than one meeting
[2023/12/16 10:39] Almut Brunswick: and same is valid for the minutes
[2023/12/16 10:39] Rosie Gray: I don't follow
[2023/12/16 10:40] Almut Brunswick: Never mind...Shall I take the notes?
[2023/12/16 10:40] Rosie Gray: lol.... well I just said I would, so it
[2023/12/16 10:40] Rosie Gray: it's okay
[2023/12/16 10:40] Almut Brunswick: ok
[2023/12/16 10:40] Rosie Gray: can I have a Motion to approve the Agenda please?
[2023/12/16 10:40] Almut Brunswick: Second
[2023/12/16 10:41] Rosie Gray: first we need a first ㋡
[2023/12/16 10:41] Moon Adamant: I so move to approve agenda
[2023/12/16 10:41] Rosie Gray: thanks Moon
[2023/12/16 10:41] Rosie Gray: and Almut has seconded
[2023/12/16 10:41] Almut Brunswick: second
[2023/12/16 10:41] Rosie Gray: please vote
[2023/12/16 10:41] Moon Adamant: aye
[2023/12/16 10:41] Sudane Erato: aye
[2023/12/16 10:41] Almut Brunswick: Aye
[2023/12/16 10:41] Rosie Gray: aye
[2023/12/16 10:41] Sandy Burgess: aye
[2023/12/16 10:41] Rosie Gray: Tor?
[2023/12/16 10:41] Tor Karlsvalt: aye
[2023/12/16 10:41] Tor Karlsvalt: hehe
[2023/12/16 10:41] Rosie Gray: Motion carried
[2023/12/16 10:42] Rosie Gray: let me find the previous Minutes
[2023/12/16 10:42] Moon Adamant: please ㋡
[2023/12/16 10:42] Rosie Gray: viewtopic.php?t=10463
[2023/12/16 10:42] Rosie Gray: they look good to me
[2023/12/16 10:43] Rosie Gray: any comments?
[2023/12/16 10:43] Sudane Erato: they look nice to me
[2023/12/16 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Very brief :D
[2023/12/16 10:43] Sudane Erato: yes :)
[2023/12/16 10:43] Tor Karlsvalt: /me nods
[2023/12/16 10:44] Rosie Gray: they do... and I think we didnt have a Dec 2 meeting, or did we?
[2023/12/16 10:44] Rosie Gray: egads
[2023/12/16 10:44] Almut Brunswick: Not that I know of
[2023/12/16 10:44] Sandy Burgess: I for sure was not there
[2023/12/16 10:44] Rosie Gray: yes I think we rescheduled... so here we are ㋡
[2023/12/16 10:44] Moon Adamant: motion to approve the minutes
[2023/12/16 10:45] Rosie Gray: do we have a second?
[2023/12/16 10:45] Sudane Erato: second
[2023/12/16 10:45] Rosie Gray: vote
[2023/12/16 10:45] Rosie Gray: aye
[2023/12/16 10:45] Sudane Erato: aye
[2023/12/16 10:45] Sandy Burgess: aye
[2023/12/16 10:45] Tor Karlsvalt: aye
[2023/12/16 10:45] Rosie Gray: motion carries
[2023/12/16 10:45] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2023/12/16 10:45] Rosie Gray: 3.1 Locus Amoenus covenant update review
[2023/12/16 10:45] Rosie Gray: shall we table this for now?
[2023/12/16 10:46] Almut Brunswick: Makes sense
[2023/12/16 10:46] Rosie Gray: or does someone want to talk about it
[2023/12/16 10:46] Moon Adamant: no comments right now
[2023/12/16 10:46] Rosie Gray: okay let's table it for next meeting and hopefully we can get it finished between now and the next meeting
[2023/12/16 10:47] Rosie Gray: 3.2 General Covenant review
[2023/12/16 10:47] Rosie Gray: thoughts?
[2023/12/16 10:47] Moon Adamant: hmmm
[2023/12/16 10:47] Moon Adamant: on eminute lol
[2023/12/16 10:47] Almut Brunswick: That is a really big topic
[2023/12/16 10:47] Rosie Gray: it is!
[2023/12/16 10:47] Sudane Erato: do either the LA covenant or the General covenant have any specific issues present?
[2023/12/16 10:48] Rosie Gray: Hmmm...
[2023/12/16 10:48] Rosie Gray: well the LA one does
[2023/12/16 10:48] Moon Adamant: it does
[2023/12/16 10:48] Rosie Gray: I think we just wanted to review the general covenants
[2023/12/16 10:49] Rosie Gray: well, we can table them for the next meeting too
[2023/12/16 10:49] Rosie Gray: agreed?
[2023/12/16 10:50] Moon Adamant: no
[2023/12/16 10:50] Rosie Gray: okay
[2023/12/16 10:50] Moon Adamant: there is something urgent
[2023/12/16 10:50] Moon Adamant: just a sec, copying:
[2023/12/16 10:50] Rosie Gray: oh? please then Moon ㋡
[2023/12/16 10:50] Moon Adamant: Approval of Buildings:

Code: Select all

All structures are subject to review by the Land Use Commission (LUC). Upon completion of exterior construction, notice shall be delivered by the LUC to the Chancellor for approval. Builders also have the option of submitting plans to the LUC for pre-approval.

[2023/12/16 10:50] Rosie Gray: aah!
[2023/12/16 10:50] Moon Adamant: this needs to be reviewed asap
[2023/12/16 10:50] Rosie Gray: you are right of course!
[2023/12/16 10:50] Almut Brunswick: Oh yes!
[2023/12/16 10:51] Moon Adamant: specially as our land sales are going rather well
[2023/12/16 10:51] Rosie Gray: and especially because this has never really been followed anyway
[2023/12/16 10:51] Tor Karlsvalt: :)
[2023/12/16 10:52] Sudane Erato: we really should name specific people
[2023/12/16 10:52] Moon Adamant: well, possibly lol
[2023/12/16 10:52] Sudane Erato: or assigned roles
[2023/12/16 10:52] Rosie Gray: so, Mr. Chancellor, do you have any suggestions around this?
[2023/12/16 10:52] Sudane Erato: so that new residents know who to talk to
[2023/12/16 10:52] Tor Karlsvalt: A select committee?
[2023/12/16 10:53] Moon Adamant: but you see an owner could contest the covenant on the assumption there's no LUC
[2023/12/16 10:53] Sudane Erato: you would not believe how many helpless messages Rudeen gets
[2023/12/16 10:53] Sudane Erato: poor Rudeen
[2023/12/16 10:53] Rosie Gray: Personally, I think that the EMs are in a perfect position to keep some kind of track
[2023/12/16 10:53] Tor Karlsvalt: Well it seems regarding new residents we just handle as the need arises
[2023/12/16 10:53] Sandy Burgess: We could also make a postbox where people can drop a notecard and send out a message to the respective people
[2023/12/16 10:53] Rosie Gray: what does Rudeen do with the messages, Sudane?
[2023/12/16 10:53] Tor Karlsvalt: Always happy to get feedback from others if something is against covenants so I can deal with it
[2023/12/16 10:54] Moon Adamant: lol, what i was thinking
[2023/12/16 10:54] Sudane Erato: Rudeen is the land owner from whom new residents buy
[2023/12/16 10:54] Sudane Erato: so she is the first one they IM with questions
[2023/12/16 10:54] Moon Adamant: and i think a select committee is what we, the Guild, are
[2023/12/16 10:54] Moon Adamant: ah, I see
[2023/12/16 10:54] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2023/12/16 10:55] Rosie Gray: I think that when an EM helps a new person purchase, sends them a welcome message etc., it
[2023/12/16 10:55] Tor Karlsvalt: We have a lot of EMs and eyeballs on the issue.
[2023/12/16 10:55] Rosie Gray: it's also a good time to let them know who to ask questions of
[2023/12/16 10:55] Tor Karlsvalt: /me nods.
[2023/12/16 10:55] Moon Adamant: yes, but some issues persist
[2023/12/16 10:55] Tor Karlsvalt: And where the contact boards are.
[2023/12/16 10:55] Moon Adamant: for example, more and more common that people buy the casper sign lol
[2023/12/16 10:56] Tor Karlsvalt: I can make a NC for EMs to hand out on this.
[2023/12/16 10:56] Sudane Erato: I think that simply sending them to EM's is not good, since some EMs don't res[pond that that kind of query
[2023/12/16 10:56] Rosie Gray: if they are EMs then they should be prepared to though
[2023/12/16 10:56] Rosie Gray: and know what to say
[2023/12/16 10:56] Sudane Erato: they should... yes
[2023/12/16 10:56] Tor Karlsvalt: yes
[2023/12/16 10:56] Rosie Gray: otherwise, they aren't much use as an EM
[2023/12/16 10:56] Moon Adamant: I think we would need to review this
[2023/12/16 10:56] Sudane Erato: but.....
[2023/12/16 10:56] Moon Adamant: process, I mean
[2023/12/16 10:56] Tor Karlsvalt: Ideally, we will have a HUD for citizens this term.
[2023/12/16 10:57] Moon Adamant: because there are staff boards, but if youa re new to teh CDS you don't know where they are
[2023/12/16 10:57] Sudane Erato: oh yes... the HUD
[2023/12/16 10:57] Tor Karlsvalt: right, hence the need for a hud
[2023/12/16 10:57] Sudane Erato: exc3ellent development
[2023/12/16 10:57] Rosie Gray: still, that's one more thing for a new citizen to keep track of
[2023/12/16 10:57] Moon Adamant: hmmm, yes!
[2023/12/16 10:57] Moon Adamant: well, yes and no
[2023/12/16 10:57] Tor Karlsvalt: We can put it on each parcel if you like. A welcome present.
[2023/12/16 10:57] Moon Adamant: becuas ethe Casper sign COUL give teh HuD immediately
[2023/12/16 10:58] Tor Karlsvalt: ok, even better.
[2023/12/16 10:58] Rosie Gray: along with the notecards that people don't read? ;)
[2023/12/16 10:58] Moon Adamant: they do give a NC of Sudane's
[2023/12/16 10:58] Tor Karlsvalt: Tho, they might not use the Casper sign when they first buy the land.
[2023/12/16 10:58] Moon Adamant: ah, but the trick is to put the HUD saying things, not giving NCs ㋡
[2023/12/16 10:58] Rosie Gray: there is nothing like a real person contacting, in my opinion
[2023/12/16 10:58] Moon Adamant: Tor, more than half do
[2023/12/16 10:59] Tor Karlsvalt: hehe, yes, that does seem to have been an issue, even with current residents
[2023/12/16 10:59] Moon Adamant: Rosie, the HUD can have a Staff Inworld
[2023/12/16 10:59] Rosie Gray: I don't doubt that, Moon
[2023/12/16 10:59] Rosie Gray: but still it is putting the onus back onto the new person to contact us
[2023/12/16 11:00] Rosie Gray: not the other way around
[2023/12/16 11:00] Rosie Gray: and personally, I think it has to be the other way around
[2023/12/16 11:00] Moon Adamant: untill they buy the land properly we don't know what tehy're doing
[2023/12/16 11:00] Tor Karlsvalt: Well it seems we do check up on new people.
[2023/12/16 11:00] Moon Adamant: even yesterday, Sisi payed the sign so obviously we didn't get a mail
[2023/12/16 11:00] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2023/12/16 11:00] Rosie Gray: well we do get an email though
[2023/12/16 11:00] Rosie Gray: it says a new person has paid the box
[2023/12/16 11:00] Moon Adamant: not if they just pay the sign
[2023/12/16 11:00] Tor Karlsvalt: We get a casper email.
[2023/12/16 11:01] Moon Adamant: i don't get those
[2023/12/16 11:01] Rosie Gray: yes, it comes from the casper
[2023/12/16 11:01] Rosie Gray: oh, then you should ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:01] Sudane Erato: Rudeen got the first plea from Sisi
[2023/12/16 11:01] Tor Karlsvalt: And then I look at EM Actions and it's done.
[2023/12/16 11:01] Tor Karlsvalt: Thank you elves.
[2023/12/16 11:01] Rosie Gray: perhaps Rudeen needs to add Moon ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:01] Sudane Erato: add Moon to what?
[2023/12/16 11:01] Moon Adamant: i am not a great email reader ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:02] Rosie Gray: to receiving the Casper emails when a new person pays the box
[2023/12/16 11:02] Sudane Erato: oh
[2023/12/16 11:02] Sudane Erato: that's the list of Casper managers
[2023/12/16 11:02] Sudane Erato: different list from the EMs
[2023/12/16 11:02] Rosie Gray: shouldn't they be the same though?
[2023/12/16 11:03] Sudane Erato: ?shrug?
[2023/12/16 11:03] Moon Adamant: (in any case, I would like to propose to discussion a review of teh Casper Signs, as people miss them too)
[2023/12/16 11:03] Tor Karlsvalt: Some EMs do not do anything with land sales.
[2023/12/16 11:03] Tor Karlsvalt: Delia for instance.
[2023/12/16 11:03] Sudane Erato: Tor, thats my point
[2023/12/16 11:03] Rosie Gray: okay but we are getting off topic
[2023/12/16 11:03] Rosie Gray: yes, I agree, and I wonder why they are EMs then
[2023/12/16 11:04] Rosie Gray: since that is the most important job
[2023/12/16 11:04] Tor Karlsvalt: Delia is Mother Nature.
[2023/12/16 11:04] Sandy Burgess: Hello Delia
[2023/12/16 11:04] Tor Karlsvalt: Hi Delia
[2023/12/16 11:04] Moon Adamant: hi Delia ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:04] Delia Lake: Hi :)
[2023/12/16 11:04] Rosie Gray: hi delia
[2023/12/16 11:04] Rosie Gray: just in time!
[2023/12/16 11:04] Rosie Gray: here's a link to the Agenda: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jGd ... sp=sharing
[2023/12/16 11:05] Delia Lake: ty
[2023/12/16 11:05] Rosie Gray: we are on item 3.2
[2023/12/16 11:05] Moon Adamant: sorta :-D
[2023/12/16 11:05] Rosie Gray: yes and I want to bring us back to the Agenda
[2023/12/16 11:05] Rosie Gray: otherwise we will get nowhere ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:05] Moon Adamant: sure ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:06] Moon Adamant: I think teh Guild can replace LUC in taht wording
[2023/12/16 11:06] Moon Adamant: to recall... justa sec...
[2023/12/16 11:06] Moon Adamant: Approval of Buildings:

Code: Select all

All structures are subject to review by the Land Use Commission (LUC). Upon completion of exterior construction, notice shall be delivered by the LUC to the Chancellor for approval. Builders also have the option of submitting plans to the LUC for pre-approval.

[2023/12/16 11:06] Moon Adamant: or review the wording as well
[2023/12/16 11:06] Rosie Gray: yes I agree with that, and then the Administrative stuff can be figured out separately
[2023/12/16 11:07] Moon Adamant: yeah
[2023/12/16 11:07] Rosie Gray: we don't need to have that in the covenant
[2023/12/16 11:07] Moon Adamant: actually because it contradicts what's next
[2023/12/16 11:07] Rosie Gray: so, we need someone to make a new draft general covenant
[2023/12/16 11:07] Moon Adamant: it says teh Chancellor decides
[2023/12/16 11:08] Moon Adamant: (now I recall I had noticed this before...)
[2023/12/16 11:08] Moon Adamant: easy
[2023/12/16 11:08] Moon Adamant: remove #1
[2023/12/16 11:09] Moon Adamant: alter #2 to say:
[2023/12/16 11:10] Rosie Gray: sorry... accidental TP again!
[2023/12/16 11:10] Tor Karlsvalt: Rosie has been jumpy of late
[2023/12/16 11:10] Sudane Erato: hehe
[2023/12/16 11:10] Sudane Erato: its the cat :)
[2023/12/16 11:10] Rosie Gray: yes, it's rather annoying!
[2023/12/16 11:11] Rosie Gray: but not the cat's fault
[2023/12/16 11:11] Moon Adamant: "Approval of all public and private structures in a region is the jurisdiction of the Chancellor, who can request an opinion from the Guild. (See specific Regional Covenants below)."
[2023/12/16 11:11] Delia Lake: I read that the firestorm recent update has a tp bug that they are working on
[2023/12/16 11:11] Moon Adamant: and this would now become #1
[2023/12/16 11:11] Sudane Erato: Delia, i think they updated the update to fix that
[2023/12/16 11:11] Rosie Gray: I've got the update!
[2023/12/16 11:12] Moon Adamant: (then Guild discusses how to provide that opinion)
[2023/12/16 11:12] Sudane Erato: :)
[2023/12/16 11:12] Tor Karlsvalt: hehe
[2023/12/16 11:12] Rosie Gray: anyway, Moon, can you make that into a draft document?
[2023/12/16 11:12] Tor Karlsvalt: It's an enhancement
[2023/12/16 11:12] Delia Lake: it wasn't updated a couple of hours ago but may be now
[2023/12/16 11:12] Moon Adamant: uhm sure
[2023/12/16 11:12] Rosie Gray: we would need to have it approved by the RA
[2023/12/16 11:12] Moon Adamant: sending to you?
[2023/12/16 11:13] Rosie Gray: sure, and maybe we can all have a look at it before a next meeting
[2023/12/16 11:13] Moon Adamant: yes, you are reporting to RA, right?
[2023/12/16 11:13] Moon Adamant: ok
[2023/12/16 11:13] Rosie Gray: I think your suggestions make sense... any other comments from anyone?
[2023/12/16 11:14] Tor Karlsvalt: nope, I'm good
[2023/12/16 11:14] Tor Karlsvalt: The animals had something to say
[2023/12/16 11:14] Rosie Gray: shall we move on to item 3.3 then, CN review of Moon's plan
[2023/12/16 11:15] Rosie Gray: Moon?
[2023/12/16 11:15] Moon Adamant: oh, sorry
[2023/12/16 11:16] Moon Adamant: hmm, have you guys seen the exhibit below and/or the mockups on the CN sky?
[2023/12/16 11:16] Moon Adamant: if not, better to table
[2023/12/16 11:16] Tor Karlsvalt: /me looks down on it every morning.
[2023/12/16 11:16] Moon Adamant: pff
[2023/12/16 11:17] Rosie Gray: I have but not recently
[2023/12/16 11:17] Rosie Gray: and I think we need a bit of a walk-through from you?
[2023/12/16 11:17] Sandy Burgess: I went up there a while back but not recently
[2023/12/16 11:17] Moon Adamant: well, no alteration since you were there, except the expansion into the prim parcels was removed as tehy started to be acquired by citizens recently
[2023/12/16 11:18] Moon Adamant: ok
[2023/12/16 11:18] Moon Adamant: we can go there for sure, but maybe schedule it? Otherwise we may not have time for the rest of teh agenda
[2023/12/16 11:18] Sudane Erato: perhaps just an overview?... we are bringing which part of the plan to the GUild?
[2023/12/16 11:18] Moon Adamant: or let's go in teh end of this
[2023/12/16 11:18] Sudane Erato: the re-parcel;ing?
[2023/12/16 11:19] Moon Adamant: ok, as an overview...
[2023/12/16 11:19] Sudane Erato: but not the new builds
[2023/12/16 11:19] Moon Adamant: well, there are two issues here
[2023/12/16 11:19] Moon Adamant: three
[2023/12/16 11:19] Moon Adamant: one is the work that has already started: redoing builds that weren't selling
[2023/12/16 11:19] Sudane Erato: yes
[2023/12/16 11:19] Moon Adamant: that's fine and keeps going on, we have got great new builds ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:20] Moon Adamant: then, the plan below implies two things
[2023/12/16 11:20] Moon Adamant: a reparcelment of two areas of CN
[2023/12/16 11:20] Moon Adamant: and the construction of builds for those new parcels
[2023/12/16 11:21] Moon Adamant: reparcelling of sims implies RA approval
[2023/12/16 11:21] Moon Adamant: areas in question are: the SE corner of the city -- tehse are parcels that sell badly
[2023/12/16 11:22] Moon Adamant: and teh Garden of Peace, on the SW corner f the sim, which is one of teh largest parcels of the CDS
[2023/12/16 11:22] Tor Karlsvalt: That would be the old PIO office
[2023/12/16 11:22] Moon Adamant: no
[2023/12/16 11:22] Tor Karlsvalt: oh the stores
[2023/12/16 11:22] Rosie Gray: no?
[2023/12/16 11:22] Moon Adamant: PIO Office has been redone, belonged to phase 1
[2023/12/16 11:23] Rosie Gray: wehre the PIO offices were though
[2023/12/16 11:23] Moon Adamant: just a replacement or modification of existing structures
[2023/12/16 11:23] Sudane Erato: yes, but the OLD PIO office
[2023/12/16 11:23] Tor Karlsvalt: The old one is still in place.
[2023/12/16 11:23] Rosie Gray: the old PIO offices
[2023/12/16 11:23] Moon Adamant: ah, yes!
[2023/12/16 11:23] Moon Adamant: sorry, I see now
[2023/12/16 11:23] Moon Adamant: yes
[2023/12/16 11:23] Sudane Erato: the old one is part of that reparceling area
[2023/12/16 11:23] Tor Karlsvalt: ok
[2023/12/16 11:23] Moon Adamant: you have sene the analysis of teh sim
[2023/12/16 11:24] Moon Adamant: seen*
[2023/12/16 11:24] Sudane Erato: yes
[2023/12/16 11:24] Moon Adamant: there is a preference for parcels that are along the river (makes sense)
[2023/12/16 11:24] Moon Adamant: or that are spatially central
[2023/12/16 11:24] Moon Adamant: we can see the preference radiate from teh Forum outwards
[2023/12/16 11:25] Moon Adamant: in taht sense, teh old PIO Office parcel can become a parcel for sale, and in fact we moved the PIO Office to the North Gate
[2023/12/16 11:25] Moon Adamant: the analysis also provided a median value of the parcels sold in CN
[2023/12/16 11:26] Sudane Erato: well, I have studied these proposls with Moon, and I for one think they are great ideas and should be pursued
[2023/12/16 11:26] Tor Karlsvalt: Would it be possible to move the prim parcels and open the river for sale as a parcel?
[2023/12/16 11:26] Moon Adamant: these plots -- bot the city ones and teh Garden of Peace -- are bigger than the median are of parcels sold
[2023/12/16 11:26] Sudane Erato: Tor, we had originally proposed just that
[2023/12/16 11:26] Moon Adamant: yes, we did
[2023/12/16 11:26] Sudane Erato: but they started to get sold
[2023/12/16 11:26] Moon Adamant: but the prim parcels started selling
[2023/12/16 11:26] Sudane Erato: so Moon removed them from the proposal
[2023/12/16 11:27] Tor Karlsvalt: Well, I can't let a buck go by.
[2023/12/16 11:27] Moon Adamant: so it's tabled for the time being
[2023/12/16 11:27] Sudane Erato: pfft
[2023/12/16 11:27] Moon Adamant: idea woudl be to expand Stella Marina area there
[2023/12/16 11:27] Rosie Gray: lol
[2023/12/16 11:27] Moon Adamant: well, citizens need teh prims ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:27] Moon Adamant: so, taking this into account
[2023/12/16 11:27] Sudane Erato: they can always get prims by buying more parcels
[2023/12/16 11:27] Moon Adamant: all this
[2023/12/16 11:28] Delia Lake: even so it makes sense to move the prim parcels. they aren't buildable anyway and now that the river extends into the sea it makes more sense to have those be buildable parcels
[2023/12/16 11:28] Moon Adamant: Ok Delia
[2023/12/16 11:28] Moon Adamant: but isuse now is that even hmmm
[2023/12/16 11:28] Delia Lake: the center Forum plots may still need prim parcels but most don't
[2023/12/16 11:28] Sudane Erato: or eliminate the prim parcels
[2023/12/16 11:28] Moon Adamant: B.02 and B.03
[2023/12/16 11:28] Moon Adamant: which are teh parcels on teh border to AM and which sold badly
[2023/12/16 11:28] Moon Adamant: are taken too
[2023/12/16 11:29] Rosie Gray: hmmm, well several are used
[2023/12/16 11:29] Sudane Erato: i own one of them... just for prims
[2023/12/16 11:29] Tor Karlsvalt: Well we needed the prim parcels for at least one shop.
[2023/12/16 11:29] Rosie Gray: also, don't we want to have green space along the river?
[2023/12/16 11:29] Moon Adamant: we coudl reparcel B.02-B.03 and set the prim parcels there, but they are taken now
[2023/12/16 11:29] Tor Karlsvalt: You might lose tenents in the city if they don't have prim parcels
[2023/12/16 11:29] Sudane Erato: Rosie... development $$ ! :)
[2023/12/16 11:29] Rosie Gray: pfft!
[2023/12/16 11:29] Sudane Erato: hehe
[2023/12/16 11:30] Moon Adamant: well, we could decide if we would extend the pier or make a green belt
[2023/12/16 11:30] Rosie Gray: I think that we could make a bit more use of greenspace for beauty
[2023/12/16 11:30] Moon Adamant: the plan considered a belt to teh river for those purposes, to be decided on site
[2023/12/16 11:30] Rosie Gray: we could have a footpath along there, for instance
[2023/12/16 11:30] Moon Adamant: sure
[2023/12/16 11:31] Delia Lake: I can't remember what the prim count is for S. 01, S 0.3, A 0,4m, S 0.7 and S 0.6 but you want people with those plots to be able to have more than just the building on it
[2023/12/16 11:31] Moon Adamant: as also we would propose to review the city wall walk
[2023/12/16 11:31] Moon Adamant: namely to have a staircase from teh river level to the walk
[2023/12/16 11:32] Moon Adamant: that could coexist with just a footpath, yes
[2023/12/16 11:32] Delia Lake: I like having a staircase there. it's hard to find the entrance to the wall walk right now
[2023/12/16 11:32] Moon Adamant: meaning: formal walkway above by teh wall, informal path below by teh river
[2023/12/16 11:32] Moon Adamant: could work well
[2023/12/16 11:33] Moon Adamant: for Garden of Peace now
[2023/12/16 11:33] Moon Adamant: we woudl be a bit more daring ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:33] Moon Adamant: there is a concern that
[2023/12/16 11:33] Moon Adamant: the Praetorium Propilaeus do have a prime view on teh garden
[2023/12/16 11:33] Moon Adamant: BUT
[2023/12/16 11:34] Moon Adamant: the Garden Parcel is really inclined too
[2023/12/16 11:34] Moon Adamant: so we are proposing to transform the Garden into a water garden
[2023/12/16 11:34] Rosie Gray: you know I just had an idea about the prim parcels, if we wanted to move them
[2023/12/16 11:34] Moon Adamant: which is an arcade opening to teh river
[2023/12/16 11:35] Moon Adamant: and above teh arcade, we'd have two rather fine parcels at the Via Luna level
[2023/12/16 11:35] Moon Adamant: do share Rosie ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:35] Rosie Gray: Moon, I couldn't really tell from your diagrams about the idea of the arcade over the river
[2023/12/16 11:36] Moon Adamant: they are just schematic
[2023/12/16 11:36] Rosie Gray: oh... well I was just thinking if we wanted to still have prim parcels we could expand the water itself, and make the prim parcels water
[2023/12/16 11:36] Moon Adamant: oh, you can, yes
[2023/12/16 11:37] Sudane Erato: we used to do that in SLNE
[2023/12/16 11:37] Delia Lake: over the river??? like the bridge in Florence, Italy, over the Arno? or an arcade on the current Garden of Peace that is next to the river?
[2023/12/16 11:37] Sudane Erato: it works
[2023/12/16 11:37] Rosie Gray: since we have access to so much 'ocean' now, maybe widening the river, or creating an inner bay or something
[2023/12/16 11:37] Moon Adamant: Delia, please look on the floor below
[2023/12/16 11:37] Delia Lake: I am looking at it
[2023/12/16 11:37] Moon Adamant: at the top of the room
[2023/12/16 11:37] Moon Adamant: you have a panel with three photos
[2023/12/16 11:38] Moon Adamant: the one below is of the Garden of Peace mock-up
[2023/12/16 11:38] Rosie Gray: and have a mix of prim parcels/moorage?
[2023/12/16 11:38] Delia Lake: ok. it wasn't rezzing unless I looked right up next to it
[2023/12/16 11:39] Moon Adamant: the photo looks up the Rhenus towards Stella Marina
[2023/12/16 11:39] Rosie Gray: but I admit that I don't really get the vision of your proposal, Moon, with regards to the Garden of Peace parcel
[2023/12/16 11:39] Sudane Erato: Rosie, the lowest picture
[2023/12/16 11:40] Moon Adamant: btw, the houses on teh mock-ups are studies... really just looking if we could have 3-ambient houses and, very importantly, if teh windos could have interesting views
[2023/12/16 11:40] Rosie Gray: well I was looking at that Sudane
[2023/12/16 11:40] Sudane Erato: oh
[2023/12/16 11:40] Delia Lake: if we turn water parcels into prim parcels, what happens if a boat tries to go through that water?
[2023/12/16 11:41] Sudane Erato: Delia, its np, except that we must insits that people leave a margin
[2023/12/16 11:41] Sudane Erato: however, as long as they sit on their boats, the parcel should accept them
[2023/12/16 11:41] Moon Adamant: the idea fr Garden of Peace would be to lift up the parcels so they are level with Via Luna, or near level
[2023/12/16 11:41] Moon Adamant: that would create a high wall to support them from the Rhenus side
[2023/12/16 11:42] Rosie Gray: yes, it's that side that I didn't understand
[2023/12/16 11:42] Tor Karlsvalt: Hence the arcade
[2023/12/16 11:42] Moon Adamant: it's more interesting to have an arcade with water features and green than just a tall wall
[2023/12/16 11:42] Rosie Gray: do you perhaps have any reference images with a similar idea?
[2023/12/16 11:43] Tor Karlsvalt: So a fountain in the arcade?
[2023/12/16 11:43] Rosie Gray: I just can't picture it
[2023/12/16 11:43] Moon Adamant: what's there shows a max depth of the arcade feature, actually
[2023/12/16 11:43] Moon Adamant: hmmm, let me show you something a bit like this
[2023/12/16 11:43] Tor Karlsvalt: /me tries to cam into the arcade like a noob.
[2023/12/16 11:43] Delia Lake: lol
[2023/12/16 11:43] Rosie Gray: hehe
[2023/12/16 11:43] Saffia Widdershins: is offline.
[2023/12/16 11:44] Moon Adamant: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/p/AF1 ... -w680-h510
[2023/12/16 11:44] Delia Lake: to create interest but use few prims, the floor of the arcade could be a textured mosaic
[2023/12/16 11:44] Moon Adamant: only that's a reservoir, so walls on 4 sides
[2023/12/16 11:44] Sudane Erato: my only concern there is that as a public space the arcade might feel rather confining
[2023/12/16 11:44] Tor Karlsvalt: Ah, like the cisterns under Istanbul
[2023/12/16 11:44] Rosie Gray: yeah... my concern is it distracts from the nature idea
[2023/12/16 11:45] Tor Karlsvalt: more of a formal garden
[2023/12/16 11:45] Sudane Erato: yes
[2023/12/16 11:45] Moon Adamant: this also come sto mind:
[2023/12/16 11:45] Moon Adamant: https://c8.alamy.com/comp/2RECYTA/portu ... RECYTA.jpg
[2023/12/16 11:45] Sudane Erato: hehe
[2023/12/16 11:45] Rosie Gray: that's more interesting to me ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:46] Sudane Erato: i like the goat
[2023/12/16 11:46] Moon Adamant: these are more baroque spaces, yes
[2023/12/16 11:46] Tor Karlsvalt: lol
[2023/12/16 11:46] Moon Adamant: but the baroque garden is always a speculum mundi, a mirror of the world
[2023/12/16 11:46] Rosie Gray: the other image just looks kind of empty to me
[2023/12/16 11:47] Rosie Gray: maybe they could have prim parcels ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:47] Moon Adamant: lol, it's an event venue, it's generally empty untill it's used ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:47] Sandy Burgess: I need to go afk for a bit.
[2023/12/16 11:47] Delia Lake: https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/rooftop ... 638643.jpg
[2023/12/16 11:47] Rosie Gray: we have so many event venues though, already
[2023/12/16 11:47] Moon Adamant: for reference, that's Lisbon's main reservoir, back in the 18th c
[2023/12/16 11:47] Moon Adamant: so we can do this
[2023/12/16 11:47] Moon Adamant: instead of that deep arcade
[2023/12/16 11:47] Tor Karlsvalt: /me goes for another cup of tea.
[2023/12/16 11:48] Moon Adamant: make a shallow arcade... a wall with niches for fountains
[2023/12/16 11:48] Delia Lake: /me asks Tor to bring her a cup of tea too please
[2023/12/16 11:50] Delia Lake: An Antoni Gaudi arcade
[2023/12/16 11:50] Delia Lake: then it becomes an art space
[2023/12/16 11:50] Moon Adamant: yes, something for that
[2023/12/16 11:51] Rosie Gray: we already have the MoCA that constantly needs attention
[2023/12/16 11:51] Rosie Gray: do we really need another art space?
[2023/12/16 11:51] Moon Adamant: well, the space itself can be the art feature
[2023/12/16 11:51] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2023/12/16 11:51] Delia Lake: a constructed space like this is not a changing exhibit but the art is part of the construction itself
[2023/12/16 11:51] Moon Adamant: and you can have just a tall wall there, mind
[2023/12/16 11:52] Moon Adamant: but I think it would make teh docks claustrophobic
[2023/12/16 11:52] Tor Karlsvalt: back
[2023/12/16 11:52] Rosie Gray: wb
[2023/12/16 11:52] Moon Adamant: wb
[2023/12/16 11:52] Rosie Gray: yes I agree it would
[2023/12/16 11:52] Rosie Gray: I just hate to lose the greenspace I guess ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:52] Delia Lake: I definitely do not want a tall, thick, blank wall
[2023/12/16 11:53] Moon Adamant: so I'd rather have a green walk by the river
[2023/12/16 11:53] Tor Karlsvalt: Maybe we could put the mockup down to get a feel for the plan.
[2023/12/16 11:53] Moon Adamant: with fountains
[2023/12/16 11:53] Moon Adamant: hmmm, maybe it's all linked lol
[2023/12/16 11:53] Moon Adamant: i can check that
[2023/12/16 11:53] Rosie Gray: that sounds like a good idea
[2023/12/16 11:54] Moon Adamant: or you can go there, because i copied the volumes of praetorium, city wall and bridge
[2023/12/16 11:54] Tor Karlsvalt: ok
[2023/12/16 11:54] Tor Karlsvalt: hehe, I usually fall on this on my way down to the Docks
[2023/12/16 11:55] Tor Karlsvalt: whispers: The poster there gives an LM
[2023/12/16 11:55] Moon Adamant: yes it does ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:56] Moon Adamant: anyway, no more to present here atm
[2023/12/16 11:56] Rosie Gray: /me notes the time
[2023/12/16 11:56] Sudane Erato: sadly i must leave shortly
[2023/12/16 11:56] Moon Adamant: we can go there if you'd like, let's schedule it
[2023/12/16 11:56] Almut Brunswick: Me too
[2023/12/16 11:56] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2023/12/16 11:56] Rosie Gray: me too
[2023/12/16 11:57] Rosie Gray: shall we table everything else except for the next meeting date?
[2023/12/16 11:57] Delia Lake: jumping ahead in service of time, I volunteer to look into moving the
[2023/12/16 11:57] Sudane Erato: we can agree to sak the SC to move the forums to the correct place
[2023/12/16 11:57] Delia Lake: Guild posts in the Forum and archiving the LUC if that's what people want
[2023/12/16 11:57] Rosie Gray: we already asked I believe... Almut?
[2023/12/16 11:58] Sudane Erato: ok good
[2023/12/16 11:58] Rosie Gray: so yes, Delia that would be great if you would do it
[2023/12/16 11:58] Moon Adamant: i agree too
[2023/12/16 11:58] Almut Brunswick: Oh yes, several times even, and no response from Calli
[2023/12/16 11:58] Delia Lake: I'll check it out
[2023/12/16 11:58] Rosie Gray: thanks
[2023/12/16 11:58] Moon Adamant: great ㋡
[2023/12/16 11:59] Rosie Gray: okay, is everyone okay with tabling the rest of the items?
[2023/12/16 11:59] Almut Brunswick: Yes
[2023/12/16 11:59] Sudane Erato: yes, agreed
[2023/12/16 11:59] Moon Adamant: of course
[2023/12/16 11:59] Tor Karlsvalt: yes
[2023/12/16 11:59] Sudane Erato: next meeting?
[2023/12/16 11:59] Rosie Gray: next date then?
[2023/12/16 11:59] Tor Karlsvalt: The cat wants lunch
[2023/12/16 11:59] Sudane Erato: this time is good
[2023/12/16 11:59] Rosie Gray: do we want to wait until January?
[2023/12/16 11:59] Almut Brunswick: After New Year
[2023/12/16 11:59] Almut Brunswick: Yes
[2023/12/16 11:59] Sudane Erato: yes!
[2023/12/16 12:00] Tor Karlsvalt: yes, definitely
[2023/12/16 12:00] Rosie Gray: how is the 13th?
