By act of the Representative Assembly and at the request by the Executive, effective 30 April 2022, tier will increase eleven percent. Tier paid before April 30th, will be protected at the old rate. All tier paid on or after April 30th will be at the new, higher rate.
Tier boxes will be updated at April 30th.
Tier increases are necessary due to the recent Linden Lab (LL) policy change to charge residents sales taxes on fees and land holdings based on the location of the resident or estate owner. Consequently, this will affect the tier paid to LL by the CDS.
This tier increase was not taken lightly. Fortunately, we will cushion the effect of this increase by protecting the pre-paid tier. So, for example, if you pay 30 days worth of tier on April 29th, you will keep the 30 days after the increase is applied to your parcel. Effective with April 30th, you will pay at the higher rate.
