Pip Torok: hi beathan
Beathan Vale: Hi Pip

Shep Titian: Good thank you Trebor .. Rosie is there a report on the new sim commission?
Shep Titian: Good thanks Pat
Rosie Gray: yes I just said so Shep
Rosie Gray: brief
Shep Titian: Sorry Rosie .. I have to look at my keyboard when typing lol
Shep Titian: Hangs head
Rosie Gray: aha!
Shep Titian: lol
Shep Titian: my secret is out :O
Rosie Gray: ?
Shep Titian: Ok .. Anna has requested a 7 day vote
Shep Titian: So we move to citizen concerns
Pip Torok thinks "slow-typists of the world unite!, we have nothing to lose but our fingernails!"
Shep Titian: Hi Tor
Pip Torok: tks
Shep Titian: lol Pip
Shep Titian: Any concerns?
Pip Torok: my fundament thanks you!
Shep Titian: The citizens are not revolting? :)
Rosie Gray: hi Tor
Pip Torok: hi Tor
Tor Karlsvalt: Hi Rosie
Tor Karlsvalt: Hi all
Tor Karlsvalt: Hi Pip
Shep Titian: Ok all seems happy in CDS ;land
Trebor Warcliffe: biting tounge
Shep Titian: Any member of the RA with any concerns?
Shep Titian: lol
Rosie Gray: I'm pretty carefree today!
Rosie Gray smiles
Tor Karlsvalt: :)
Shep Titian: lmao
Patroklus Murakami: happy as larry
Pip Torok: rambling-around I see
Shep Titian: Beathan? full of the joys
Shep Titian: Ok ... Old business?
Tor Karlsvalt has indicated consent to be recorded.
Shep Titian: Anything lurking unfinished in a corner?
Pip Torok has indicated consent to be recorded.
Patroklus Murakami: not sure we have any
Shep Titian: This swimming along
Rosie Gray: only the commissions I think
Shep Titian: Well no new proposals
Shep Titian: so commission reports
Tor Karlsvalt hopes he will not get too drunk for Mardi Gras
Shep Titian: who first
Patroklus Murakami: mine will be brief :)
Rosie Gray: you go, Pat
Shep Titian: ok Pat has the floor
Patroklus Murakami: thx rosie
Patroklus Murakami: well, i must apologise
Patroklus Murakami: i haven't been able to find time for another commission meeting
Patroklus Murakami: but i hope to organise one before we next meet again
Patroklus Murakami: i had hoped to have some legisative proposals ready for us to discuss
Patroklus Murakami: if i get time i'll draft some
Patroklus Murakami: if not, i'll call a meeting anyway and we can use gwyn's as a starting point for discussion
Patroklus Murakami: that's all from me
Shep Titian: Well I think thats clear .. anyone want to add something on the subject?
Trebor Warcliffe: nope
Shep Titian: Ok .. Rosie?
Rosie Gray: sounds good to me
Rosie Gray: okay, onto the Possible New Sim Purpose Commission (the commission with a flexible name)
Shep Titian: :)
Rosie Gray: *Purchase, I meant
Rosie Gray: I had scheduled 2 meetings in world to discuss the ideas around purchasing new sims, and if we did what the theme should be
Rosie Gray: the first meeting we had a lively discussion... i'ts posted here: http://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3715
Rosie Gray: the second meeting was scheduled for yesterday, but the same people showed up, only not as many
Rosie Gray: and it quickly degraded into not what we were supposed to be talking about
Shep Titian: Ah sorry could'nt make it
Pip Torok: me too
Trebor Warcliffe: my apologies for any part of that i was involved with
Shep Titian: Will you post the second one?
Rosie Gray: I will try to call another one at a different time again
Trebor Warcliffe: Not worth posting
Shep Titian: ok
Rosie Gray: no, there was really nothing to post Shep
Patroklus Murakami: sorry to hear that rosie
Beathan Vale: I will try to continue to contribute on the forums. I can't make the inworld meetings -- please pay attention to the forums as well
Shep Titian: Noted Beathan
Rosie Gray: Yes I intend on continuing the discussion on the forums
Rosie Gray: so - one more inworld meeting, but I haven't chosen a time yet
Shep Titian: Ok
Pip Torok: probably the most productive place now, Rosie
Rosie Gray: does anyone have a suggestion for time?
Trebor Warcliffe: A saturday or sunday would be best
Pip Torok: time for installation?
Rosie Gray: time for a meeting
Pip Torok: (sorry)
Trebor Warcliffe: maybe next saturday 9am slt
Trebor Warcliffe: since there wont be an RA meeting
Rosie Gray: I'll have a look at that
Shep Titian: Yes that would be ok for me
Trebor Warcliffe: Seems you might get a better turnout
Rosie Gray: okay
Pip Torok: may i suggest we follow-on the choice of theme with candidate-names for the new sim?
Rosie Gray: it does seem that there is no real concensus thus far, on if we should actually move forward with purchasing 1, or perhaps 2 sims
Rosie Gray: or if we do, what the themes should be
Rosie Gray: that's the end of my report, if anyone has any questions
Pip Torok: yes ...
Shep Titian: Pip
Pip Torok: i take it that candidate names of the new sims come up after theme s are chosen?
Shep Titian: That would make sense
Rosie Gray: yes, that does... we are not at that point yet
Rosie Gray: any more questions?
Pip Torok: and cd I suggest that the same commission makes the final choice of name?
Rosie Gray: thank you Pip, we can keep that suggestion in mind
Shep Titian: Ok no one else ?
Pip Torok: tku youll need LL's masterlist of current sim names i think!
Shep Titian: Yes you only get a few to pick from
Rosie Gray nods
Shep Titian: Okay .. I believe cwe can move to executive report .. Trebor?
Trebor Warcliffe: Yes thank you
Trebor Warcliffe: Hippo has been completly installed inworld and we have 4 Hippo Managers, myself, Tor, Lilith and Sudane
Trebor Warcliffe: No MAJOR issues a few minor ones but we've worked them out
Trebor Warcliffe: The 4 of us are having a meeting tomorrwo adn than will set up an inworld meeting for the citizens
Trebor Warcliffe: A basic here's how it works scenario
Shep Titian: Do they all still not give prim numbers per parcel?
Trebor Warcliffe: They do not have prim numbers per parcel
Trebor Warcliffe: Because citizens "purchase" instead of "rent"
Trebor Warcliffe: the prims arent connected like hte are in other Hippo boxes
Trebor Warcliffe: I will look into the possiblity of having a number put in place jsut ofr the sake of having it but I dont think its possible
Trebor Warcliffe: Currently we have quite a bit of available land for purchase.
Shep Titian: Its just if they don't look at the about land page they might think there's none allowed
Trebor Warcliffe: Any suggestions to attract mroe citizens without the use of false promises, misrepresentations, and lies would be appreciated.
Trebor Warcliffe: Valentines Day we had what I named
Trebor Warcliffe: the CDS 1st Annual St. Valentines Day Ball
Rosie Gray: pardon me all.... I have to log off. Sorry I'm asking for a 7 day vote if anything comes up.
Trebor Warcliffe: k
Pip Torok: bye Rosie
Shep Titian: kk
Trebor Warcliffe: The event was from 12:30pm to 7:00pm
Patroklus Murakami: bye rosie
Trebor Warcliffe: Live entertainment from Nadine Morani 1-3 DJ Poppy 3-5 and Mankind Tracer 5-7
Trebor Warcliffe: Turn out from non-citizens was very good, we had over 100 individual people come by with a max at one time of 42
Trebor Warcliffe: and we crashed the sim during the last hour
Trebor Warcliffe: Today at 3pm
Trebor Warcliffe: We have a concert that we are puttign on during the Mrdi Gras festivities at new Toulouse
Patroklus Murakami: so sorry i couldn't make it :(
Trebor Warcliffe: We have an embassy in NT and were kindly invited to participate
Trebor Warcliffe: So as a token of our appreciation Im putting on teh concert
Pip Torok: :-)
Trebor Warcliffe: Due to my experince on Tuesday at the VDay Ball I have hired a greeter to greet all in attendance and handout a nice thank you NC to those in attendance with our web site and our TP to NFS
Trebor Warcliffe: The insula proposal.
Trebor Warcliffe: I had a volunteer to do a RFP for the insula project. When I made contact with this individual after the
Trebor Warcliffe: promise I got no response and no actuion has been taken
Shep Titian: Sorry RFP?
Trebor Warcliffe: Therefore I have taken the initative and am working with a builder (Tor also) on the insula project build
Trebor Warcliffe: Request For Proposal
Shep Titian: kk
Trebor Warcliffe: it was suggested after my debacle of the last "contest" I had to do a RFP instead.
Shep Titian: You put the call out where?
Trebor Warcliffe: The RFP?
Shep Titian: yes
Shep Titian: I thought you were putting out a request for tender?
Trebor Warcliffe: A government official told me they would take care of it almost a month ago and has done absolutly nothing in that regards. That is why I am taking care of it myself
Trebor Warcliffe: I have found very very little help this entire term, granted I am VERY THANKFUL for the little help I do get, please dont take me wrong
Shep Titian: Well I know the person who won the last comp would probably have bid
Trebor Warcliffe: But I have been spending 40+ hours a week workign on things in and for the CDS
Trebor Warcliffe: Well if more people could contribute, even as little as 30 minutes a day, maybe more things woudl get done. Just a thought
Trebor Warcliffe: I think im done for now
Beathan Vale: With regard to the amount of land available to purchase, I would like to note that we have lost quite a few new citizens. I blame the climate of hostility to immigration created by the fiasco last election -- we need to do better, much better, even the point of cultural reform. I lament that this body rejected Pat's reasonable, even minimal voting reform proposal. That was wrongheaded to the point of being nationally suicidal -- and those of us who voted "nay" should be ashamed. We cannot survive (except as an aenemic debating club) if we continue to have such hostility to new citizens at such high levels of our government..
Trebor Warcliffe: No Beathan that is incorrect
Trebor Warcliffe: Many of these citizens
Trebor Warcliffe: reached out to me before they left
Trebor Warcliffe: the general consensus
Trebor Warcliffe: without naming names because those that did talk to me asked there names not be used
Trebor Warcliffe: was that they were tricked into buying land, lied to, given false promises, and mislead
Beathan Vale: we have different impressions -- possibly as a result of talking to different people -- in any case, we must do better to be welcoming, inclusive and fair.
Patroklus Murakami is in and out at the moment due to RL stuff
Pip Torok is of the opinion that the newcomers were mis-informed and/or lukewarm in the first place, but in any case, its now water under the bridge
Shep Titian: Beathan .. I know two of them .. still here just ... who were promised things that were'nt going to happen
Trebor Warcliffe: There is no different "impression" this is a fact told to me directly from these people NOT through the grapevine or the gossip circles
Beathan Vale: and I understand that everything promised was something we should do and have done -- but are not doing given the current anti-immigrant cultural climate -- that is my point
Trebor Warcliffe: One person made these promises Beathan, not the community as a whole
Beathan Vale: I also spoke with leaving citizens -- possibly some of the same ones -- but I asked different questions and therefore may have gotten different answers
Trebor Warcliffe: We cant allow that to happen again
Beathan Vale: No -- what we can't allow to happen is to leave new citizens unincluded and unwelcomed. nothing was promised that we have not previously done and should not still be doing
Pip Torok: well imo we need a newcomers document .. not the falllible chat of one citizen ...
Beathan Vale: Pip -- that we can agree on
Trebor Warcliffe: Im not saying you're wrong but as little as you're inworld i find it rather odd that you talked directly to these people and havent gotten the info via a middleman
Trebor Warcliffe: Pip
Beathan Vale: But we also need a newcomer policy to actually provide attractive services to them -- and to existing citizens as well
Trebor Warcliffe: I am purchasing the Magazine Publishing system
Trebor Warcliffe: we spoke about at the last meeting
Trebor Warcliffe: probably by the end of the week
Trebor Warcliffe: thsi will allow both the govt
Beathan Vale: Trebor, I am sure you have spoken to more than I have
Trebor Warcliffe: adn our citizesn use of the system
Trebor Warcliffe: it is based on the Intelli book sysatem
Trebor Warcliffe: Also I seem to remember promises being made months ago to "clean up" the Code of Laws and Constitution. It would be helpful to get this done so we can publish new up to date
Trebor Warcliffe: materials
Beathan Vale: and most of my conversations were some time ago -- when people were thinking about leavving but had not yet decided to
Trebor Warcliffe: fair enough Beathan thank you for clarifyign that for me
Patroklus Murakami: i am grateful for the hard work trebor and others are doing to make the new citizen experience more welcoming and also consistent and understandable (and without raising false expectations)
Beathan Vale: I
Pip Torok: Beathan .. imo the major push was the need to come up with the Tier
Trebor Warcliffe: In all honesty Pat there hasnt been new citizens
Beathan Vale: I agree Pat, my criticism was not intended to be directed at Trebor
Trebor Warcliffe: Im sorry Pip?
Shep Titian: It was sold on false promises
Patroklus Murakami: good to be prepared tho!
Trebor Warcliffe: yes
Pip Torok: well I notice how many defaults there seem to have been around the first of this month
Trebor Warcliffe: We want to bring out a more professional and polished presentation
Shep Titian: It was also sold on a them and us basis
Tor Karlsvalt: wb Bells
Pip Torok: fully agree, treb
Trebor Warcliffe: Pip some of those were attributed to the new hippo system
Beathan Vale: shep -- yes, but I would rather focus on making those reasonable promises true than pointing fingers at soemone for lying. nothing unreasonable was promised, even if the promises were untrue
Trebor Warcliffe: Good point Beathan
Trebor Warcliffe: And it takes more than a half a dozen active vitizens to make that happen
Tor Karlsvalt: So a person can mis represent things and then force the RA into accepting that as policy?
Trebor Warcliffe: Everyone "talks" but little is actually "done"
Patroklus Murakami: we are drifting into criticism of ppl who are not here to defend themselves. let's try to avoid that?
Shep Titian: And a lot of us were hoping to get things moving .. BUT they had to be done by one person only
Trebor Warcliffe: Im not naming anyone Pat Im just bringing to everyoenes attention what caused us to be in the situation we are in
Trebor Warcliffe: No one has to defend themselves
Pip Torok agrees with beathan that fingers are for typing with, not pointing at ...
Beathan Vale: true -- that is the challenge, and a serious one -- too bad you aren't and anoeba, Trebor -- we could use six or eight of you
Trebor Warcliffe: thank you
Beathan Vale: amoeba even
Trebor Warcliffe: actually smiled on that one
Trebor Warcliffe: well im done for now
Trebor Warcliffe: I HOPE we will have a good showing at the concert today
Trebor Warcliffe: from our communtiy
Shep Titian: Thank you Trebor
Trebor Warcliffe: yw
Pip Torok: I hope to attend .. am curious about new Toulouse
Shep Titian: Does anyone have any announcements?
Pip Torok: yes .. In the next week or so
Pip Torok: mizou and I plan to resurrect the gardens of Inspiration
Trebor Warcliffe: very nice
Shep Titian: Cool
Trebor Warcliffe: thank you both
Patroklus Murakami: great news :)
Trebor Warcliffe: may i suggest some hummingbirds and butterflys
Shep Titian: Ok date next RA .. I suggest March 3rd at 9 am ?
Pip Torok: the ground is purchased and its now down to mizou and I on sunday morning (tom orrow for us) to get going
Pip Torok: so watch this space!!
Shep Titian: Nice one Pip
Pip Torok: good idea ... watch yr hair tho, ladies!
Shep Titian: Ok .. how about next RA on March 3rd at 9 am?
Trebor Warcliffe: good
Trebor Warcliffe: thats 2 weeks corrrect
Shep Titian: it is
Trebor Warcliffe: standard procedure
Patroklus Murakami: ok by me
Trebor Warcliffe: maybe we'll have more "meat" to discuss by than
Pip Torok: may i make a suggestion?
Shep Titian: good Pat
Shep Titian: Yes Pip
Pip Torok: that we use pats general model to show the agenda, action s taken and finally the transcript as one post in the Forum?
Pip Torok: it REALLY saves time and concentration imo
Shep Titian: Well as Pat is in charge of such posting it's up to him
Pip Torok: game,set and match!
Patroklus Murakami can't take all the credit. i think calli suggested putting the agenda up front?
Shep Titian: :)
Patroklus Murakami: but... will do!
Shep Titian: Thank you Pat :)
Trebor Warcliffe: I have to leave for RL for a few hours before the concert
Shep Titian: Have an extra brownie
Shep Titian: Ok meeting ajourned .. any second?
Pip Torok: second
Shep Titian: thanks Pip needs RA
Pip Torok: oh yes! 9forgot;)
Patroklus Murakami: second
Shep Titian: vote ... aye
Patroklus Murakami: aye
Beathan Vale: aye
Shep Titian: Phew
Shep Titian: thanks for being gentle :)
Patroklus Murakami: you never forget you first :)
Patroklus Murakami: *your
Shep Titian: lol
Bells Semyorka: Yay! Shep! you did a wonderful job
Bells Semyorka claps and cheers
Shep Titian: well there was'nt much to do
Tor Karlsvalt: woot
Shep Titian: but thank you Bells :)
Shep Titian: And Tor
Tor Karlsvalt: you have to herd the cats!
