I just joined SL & the Neufreistadt sim and find it all very captivating.

The scripting power is what initially attracted me and I have been playing with it since getting an account.

I have been making a land ownership script that scans the sim and sends the owner data to my server via HTTP, and generates this map:

I am still working it, so it may be a bit wonky.

I got this idea from: [url:32ypihdj]http://skyhoney.no-ip.info/sl/maps/sims ... g/sim.html[/url:32ypihdj]

I would like to help build the proposed city government website as outlined here:

Is anyone working on the website now? What is the best way to coordinate our efforts?

Adam, great work :D

Theoretically, there is just a "provisory webmaster" (yours truly :) ). That Request for Proposals on the wiki is somewhat dated, but it was thought to avoid exactly the isses we're having now: relying upon a single person to do the maintenance and updating of the site, and a lack of integration with other areas/tools. Right now, website, forums and wiki, as well as the few tools for scanning land, updating fees etc. are all on separate platforms with no clear, integrated approach to them.

Your map scanning tool is quite interesting (at the moment it sadly just gives an error to me). Actually, right now, Sudane Erato, as the Guildmistress, has been working with Eloise Pasteur to do a replacement of Sky Honey's current system. It has some added nifty features as well, but I wonder if you'd like to get in touch with either of them to "join forces" on that particular issue? :)

The issue about the whole website redesign is sort of "stagnated" at the moment. What we might do is to see what on that Request for Proposals is actually doable, and how much it would cost the City to sponsor its development, and work from there. We definitely need something different, consistent, and with a single sign-on login for all areas (possibly using [url=http://openid.net:fu1ouh2q]OpenID[/url:fu1ouh2q] or a similar method). Our fear was that the demands on the RFP are too high, and the costs of doing that would be far higher than the City can reasonably be expected to pay.
