[08:03] Delia Lake: I call to order the meeting of the SC, Saturday, May 8 @ 8:03 am
[08:04] Delia Lake: The sole agenda item is acclaiming the officers for the 35th Term
[08:04] Delia Lake: We have a slate of candidates for the CDS 35th Term of Government.
Candidates who declared for the 1 Chancellorship and the 5 RA positions are:

Chancellor: Samara (Kyoko) Barzane

Representative Assembly:
Almut Brunswick,
Laure Levenque,
Rosie Gray,
Tailsworth Horsley, and
Tor Karlsvalt.

We have the exact number of candidates as we have available government positions. Would someone like to move that we acclaim these candidates as the incoming officers of the CDS Government?

[08:12] Delia Lake: The motion passes. The slate of candidates for the 35th Term of the CDS Government has been acclaimed as the incoming officers for that term. We will hold their affirmation of office ceremony on Tuesday, June 1

[08:13] Callipygian Christensen thanks all the citizens who have stood for office for the coming term.

[08:13] Delia Lake: Thank you to everyone who declared for office. It means so much to our community.

[08:14] Callipygian Christensen: Next meeting late June to allow RA to get settled and have their first meeting?
[08:14] Lilith Ivory: I agree thanks to all who declared
[08:14] Delia Lake: yes
[08:14] Lilith Ivory: yes
[08:14] Delia Lake: Sunday June 13?
[08:15] Delia Lake: or would June 20 be better?
[08:15] Lilith Ivory: both works for me but I like the 20th better :)
[08:15] Callipygian Christensen: I think I am good for either at this point
[08:16] Delia Lake: let's meet on the 13th then. 20th is Fathers Day in the US
[08:16] Lilith Ivory: fine with me
[08:16] Callipygian Christensen: oh wait..those are Sundays
[08:17] Delia Lake: yes
[08:17] Delia Lake: is that a problem?
[08:17] Lilith Ivory: Saturday would work for me too
[08:17] Callipygian Christensen: My RL board always meets on Sundays and I dont know which one it will be yet
[08:18] Delia Lake: ok. Saturday mornings from now through October are farmers market times for me
[08:18] Callipygian Christensen: so preferably the 19th
[08:18] Callipygian Christensen: ahh
[08:19] Callipygian Christensen: can we delay deciding then? I have my meeting tomorrow and should know June's date then
[08:19] Delia Lake: yes. let us know
[08:19] Delia Lake: either Sunday would work for me
[08:19] Lilith Ivory: for me too
[08:20] Delia Lake: With nothing urgent, and unless anyone has anything else to bring up, I adjourn this meeting.

People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote -- a very different thing.
