I request that the SC make a ruling on whether uncontested elections for both the RA and the Chancellorship are constitutional as there has been some debate on this point in the forums.
It has been explained in previous elections where seats were uncontested that the STV system always assumes there are more candidates than seats available, and that in a situation where that is not the case the candidates are automatically awarded their seat.
Since the STV system is used for CDS elections, uncontested elections for gov't seats are constitutional.
Citizens who do not agree with the use of STV have the right to research and present a Bill, requesting a Constitutional Amendment to install alternate voting methods, for consideration by the RA.
