Post by Rosie Gray »

[2021/07/24 10:16] Almut Brunswick: Dear fellow RA members, dear people of the CDS represented by Lilith, I welcome you to our third orderly meeting in the 35th term.
[2021/07/24 10:16] Almut Brunswick: I call this meeting to order (10:16 AM SLT).
[2021/07/24 10:16] Almut Brunswick: Does everybody have the agenda?
[2021/07/24 10:16] RA Agenda and Notes: Lilith Ivory got RA Agenda and Notes
[2021/07/24 10:17] Rosie Gray: yes
[2021/07/24 10:17] Almut Brunswick: Tor?
[2021/07/24 10:17] Tor Karlsvalt: sorry
[2021/07/24 10:17] Tor Karlsvalt: was looking foru it online. found it
[2021/07/24 10:17] Lilith Ivory: I have problems to get it from group note and the box still has the old one :(
[2021/07/24 10:18] Tor Karlsvalt: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9778
[2021/07/24 10:18] Almut Brunswick: ok updated
[2021/07/24 10:18] Rosie Gray: don't forget to reset the script in the box too
[2021/07/24 10:18] RA Agenda and Notes: Almut Brunswick got RA Agenda and Notes
[2021/07/24 10:18] Rosie Gray: every time you change the Agenda you have to do that
[2021/07/24 10:18] Lilith Ivory: thank you
[2021/07/24 10:19] RA Agenda and Notes: Tor Karlsvalt got RA Agenda and Notes
[2021/07/24 10:19] Almut Brunswick: Ok, then let's go through the agenda and strip it down.
[2021/07/24 10:19] Lilith Ivory: hehe
[2021/07/24 10:19] Almut Brunswick: I propose to delete 3, 4, 5
[2021/07/24 10:19] Rosie Gray: can we move item 6.3 up to be item 3?
[2021/07/24 10:20] Almut Brunswick: There is no need for when we have stricken 3-5
[2021/07/24 10:20] Almut Brunswick: I would briefly address the issue with the yet open MoCa Curator position
[2021/07/24 10:20] Rosie Gray: how about we 'Table items 3, 4, and 5'
[2021/07/24 10:20] Almut Brunswick: yes
[2021/07/24 10:21] Rosie Gray: rather than delete
[2021/07/24 10:21] Lilith Ivory: in general I think RA and citizens concerns are important
[2021/07/24 10:21] Almut Brunswick: [3-5 tabled]
[2021/07/24 10:21] Almut Brunswick: they are, but when we don't have them today, we can table them
[2021/07/24 10:21] Rosie Gray: they are, but they don't need to be at the top of the Agenda in my opinion
[2021/07/24 10:22] Lilith Ivory: we had them at the bottom before - in the good old days
[2021/07/24 10:22] Almut Brunswick: 2 Executive Report will be what Kyoko psted me in IM
[2021/07/24 10:22] Almut Brunswick: Hmm I suggest not to change the order of the agenda, but to table what is not needed today. The next agenda will start with Old Business then
[2021/07/24 10:23] Rosie Gray: Motion to table items 3 - 5 until the next meeting
[2021/07/24 10:23] Almut Brunswick: and move the concerns to later position
[2021/07/24 10:23] Almut Brunswick: second
[2021/07/24 10:23] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2021/07/24 10:23] Rosie Gray: aye
[2021/07/24 10:23] Tor Karlsvalt: aye
[2021/07/24 10:23] Almut Brunswick: ty
[2021/07/24 10:23] Almut Brunswick: I propose to strike 6.2
[2021/07/24 10:24] Rosie Gray: second
[2021/07/24 10:24] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2021/07/24 10:24] Rosie Gray: aye
[2021/07/24 10:24] Tor Karlsvalt: aye
[2021/07/24 10:25] Almut Brunswick: ty
[2021/07/24 10:25] Almut Brunswick: I'm just modifying the agenda, so you will get an updated one when we are done.
[2021/07/24 10:25] Almut Brunswick: 7. New Business tabled
[2021/07/24 10:26] Almut Brunswick: 8. Announcements: Kyoko says: The CDS Annual Pub Crawl, July 31 12-2pm with DJ Qt
[2021/07/24 10:26] Almut Brunswick: I will put it in the agenda, so it is done.
[2021/07/24 10:27] Lilith Ivory: /me raises her hand
[2021/07/24 10:27] Almut Brunswick: Yes please?
[2021/07/24 10:27] Lilith Ivory: the citizenship - aka me is confused as I saw a note that said the crawl is from 2-4?
[2021/07/24 10:28] Rosie Gray: it does say 2 - 4 on the forum
[2021/07/24 10:28] Almut Brunswick: then let's simply ask Madame Chancellor. She is online.
[2021/07/24 10:28] Rosie Gray: point of order
[2021/07/24 10:28] Rosie Gray: an we go back to the Agenda?
[2021/07/24 10:29] Almut Brunswick: sure
[2021/07/24 10:29] Almut Brunswick: I just dropped Kyoko th equestion inbetween
[2021/07/24 10:30] Almut Brunswick: Kyoko confirms 12-2 PM. She will correct it later.
[2021/07/24 10:31] Almut Brunswick: Here comes the draft:

[2021/07/24 10:31] Rosie Gray: I don't recall that we voted on tabling New Business
[2021/07/24 10:31] Rosie Gray: but I'm okay with it
[2021/07/24 10:32] Almut Brunswick: I was asking and nobody replied
[2021/07/24 10:32] Almut Brunswick: we can vote en bloc
[2021/07/24 10:32] Almut Brunswick: Since I don't know about any New Business, I propose to table it
[2021/07/24 10:33] Tor Karlsvalt: I second
[2021/07/24 10:33] Rosie Gray: aye
[2021/07/24 10:33] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2021/07/24 10:33] Tor Karlsvalt: aye
[2021/07/24 10:33] Lilith Ivory: /me raises her hand
[2021/07/24 10:34] Almut Brunswick: Lilith?
[2021/07/24 10:34] Lilith Ivory: s we talk about new business I wonder if the RA is going to deal with the fact we run out of willing RA members
[2021/07/24 10:35] Lilith Ivory: the issues we discussed at the end of last term
[2021/07/24 10:35] Almut Brunswick: ...and for volunteers in other roles
[2021/07/24 10:35] Lilith Ivory: and there might also be an amendment needed about how to proceed if an RA member vanishes without resigning properly :(
[2021/07/24 10:35] Lilith Ivory: done
[2021/07/24 10:35] Almut Brunswick: and the minimum size of the RA etc.
[2021/07/24 10:36] Tor Karlsvalt: /me checks his pixels to see if they are still rezzed.
[2021/07/24 10:36] Rosie Gray: /me admires Tor's pixels
[2021/07/24 10:36] Tor Karlsvalt: :)
[2021/07/24 10:37] Almut Brunswick: We are aware of it, however, the agenda of today is focused on working off *finally* that LUC Law topic...that is also related to that issue we haven't enough people to fill the chairs
[2021/07/24 10:37] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2021/07/24 10:37] Almut Brunswick: So... is the agenda of today acceptable? Then please vote and let's finally start :D
[2021/07/24 10:38] Rosie Gray: Motion to accept the amended Agenda
[2021/07/24 10:38] Almut Brunswick: you meant the cannibalised agenda ^^
[2021/07/24 10:38] Almut Brunswick: second
[2021/07/24 10:38] Tor Karlsvalt: aye
[2021/07/24 10:38] Rosie Gray: aye
[2021/07/24 10:38] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2021/07/24 10:38] Almut Brunswick: thank you
[2021/07/24 10:39] Rosie Gray: thank you
[2021/07/24 10:39] Tor Karlsvalt: thanks Almut
[2021/07/24 10:39] Almut Brunswick: 1.2 Review and approve the Summary and Transcript of the Second RA Meeting
[2021/07/24 10:40] Almut Brunswick: quick look in what Rosie wrote (thank you, Rosie!)
[2021/07/24 10:41] Almut Brunswick: When you are done with reading, motion to approve the minutes.
[2021/07/24 10:41] Rosie Gray: second
[2021/07/24 10:41] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2021/07/24 10:41] Tor Karlsvalt: aye
[2021/07/24 10:42] Almut Brunswick: thank you
[2021/07/24 10:42] Almut Brunswick: 2. Executive Report
[2021/07/24 10:42] Rosie Gray: aye
[2021/07/24 10:42] Almut Brunswick: /me is playing Madame Chancellor now...you need to imagine me in a kimono)
[2021/07/24 10:43] Tor Karlsvalt: LOL
[2021/07/24 10:43] Rosie Gray: hehe
[2021/07/24 10:43] Tor Karlsvalt: /me imagines a snow suit kimono.
[2021/07/24 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Kyoko said: "My report is that tiers are down, but down everywhere in SL due to loosened restriction in RL"
[2021/07/24 10:43] Almut Brunswick: giggles
[2021/07/24 10:43] Lilith Ivory: hehe
[2021/07/24 10:44] Almut Brunswick: "won't know that until the end of the month. I'm using my personal barometer. We may be fine. No way of knowing until Sudane's report"
[2021/07/24 10:44] Almut Brunswick: The announcement Kyoko made is already in the agenda.
[2021/07/24 10:45] Almut Brunswick: 6. Old Business

6.1. MoCA Curator
[2021/07/24 10:46] Almut Brunswick: As you all know, Kyoko has withdrawn her candidacy for the MoCA curator. I don't know about any other volunteers, though I renewed the call for volunteers in the Forum.
[2021/07/24 10:46] Almut Brunswick: Delia is involved in the MoCA, but I don't know if she would take over, at least as substitute.
[2021/07/24 10:47] Rosie Gray: Perhaps one of us needs to talk to her about it
[2021/07/24 10:47] Almut Brunswick: Yes, we should do that
[2021/07/24 10:47] Almut Brunswick: I think that personal addressing brings more than just a general call.
[2021/07/24 10:47] Rosie Gray: definitely
[2021/07/24 10:48] Almut Brunswick: Would you take this on you?
[2021/07/24 10:48] Rosie Gray: yes I can try
[2021/07/24 10:49] Almut Brunswick: Thank you! All others here are nonetheless encouraged to think about possible candidates and to talk to these people.
[2021/07/24 10:49] Rosie Gray: yes please!
[2021/07/24 10:49] Lilith Ivory: /me raises her hand :)
[2021/07/24 10:49] Almut Brunswick: Lilith please!
[2021/07/24 10:49] Lilith Ivory: hehe
[2021/07/24 10:50] Lilith Ivory: I have been talking with Rosie before about this .. what about the possibility to reach out for possible candidates who are not citizens yet
[2021/07/24 10:50] Almut Brunswick: Nods, I was already thinking the same
[2021/07/24 10:50] Lilith Ivory: at our Facebook page or perhaps at the inworld employment website of LL
[2021/07/24 10:50] Lilith Ivory: done
[2021/07/24 10:50] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2021/07/24 10:51] Almut Brunswick: the MoCa curator could have a status like one of the Artists in Residence
[2021/07/24 10:51] Rosie Gray: I think they would still need to be a citizen
[2021/07/24 10:51] Almut Brunswick: because of the building rights
[2021/07/24 10:51] Rosie Gray: it would be a great privilege to be given the MoCA to manage
[2021/07/24 10:51] Rosie Gray: and we can't have just anyone do it
[2021/07/24 10:52] Lilith Ivory: having to buy a fachwerk or other small parcel to get galery space for free isn´t a bad deal imo
[2021/07/24 10:53] Tor Karlsvalt: Shame really, Kyoko has done a lot of good work at MoCA in the last few years.
[2021/07/24 10:53] Rosie Gray: she has
[2021/07/24 10:53] Almut Brunswick: of course not. I know a couple of people running galleries in SL, and some are really dedicated and smart in organising exhibitions and events. Their problem is often to pay the tier for their galleries.
[2021/07/24 10:54] Rosie Gray: maybe something to explore there, Almut?
[2021/07/24 10:54] Tor Karlsvalt: I don't think it is a good idea tho, to have the MoCA be some artists gallery
[2021/07/24 10:54] Rosie Gray: I agree Tor
[2021/07/24 10:54] Almut Brunswick: So when we could attract one of them to have a free space for the exhibition "paid" with their work to win artists and to create the exhibitions, we could possibly fill that gap.
[2021/07/24 10:54] Rosie Gray: it's not a space for a personal gallery
[2021/07/24 10:55] Almut Brunswick: No, no, not of one particular artist
[2021/07/24 10:55] Almut Brunswick: I'm talking about gallery owners.
[2021/07/24 10:55] Rosie Gray: it's a museum, after all
[2021/07/24 10:55] Tor Karlsvalt: Right
[2021/07/24 10:55] Almut Brunswick: I have somebody in mind who is possibly interested. A long-time friend of mine from Portugal.
[2021/07/24 10:56] Almut Brunswick: At least, I can discuss it with him and he has an idea who to ask.
[2021/07/24 10:57] Almut Brunswick: Sadly, we don't have enough active CDS citizens to take that obligation.
[2021/07/24 10:57] Rosie Gray: with the MoCA gallery comes MoCaso Oh
[2021/07/24 10:57] Rosie Gray: and all of it's inventory
[2021/07/24 10:57] Almut Brunswick: Nods
[2021/07/24 10:57] Lilith Ivory: that´s another problem but we would have the same if a new CDS citizen would apply
[2021/07/24 10:58] Rosie Gray: yes
[2021/07/24 10:58] Rosie Gray: just something to keep in mind
[2021/07/24 10:58] Almut Brunswick: exactly. Somebody who is familiar with the MoCA and its assets is required to shoehorn the new candidate anyway.
[2021/07/24 10:58] Rosie Gray: lots of privilege comes with it
[2021/07/24 10:58] Tor Karlsvalt: /me nods.
[2021/07/24 10:59] Almut Brunswick: the curator needs actually a pro tempore
[2021/07/24 10:59] Almut Brunswick: not just now, but in general
[2021/07/24 10:59] Almut Brunswick: especially to guarantee continuities
[2021/07/24 10:59] Rosie Gray: ideally
[2021/07/24 11:00] Almut Brunswick: But what is harder to find one candidate? Two candidates... *sighs*
[2021/07/24 11:00] Rosie Gray: hopefully Delia will still stay as bbackup
[2021/07/24 11:01] Almut Brunswick: and Madame Chancellor does not have any administrative body like a PIO who could serve as a makeshift here
[2021/07/24 11:01] Almut Brunswick: Yes, we should include Delia in this matter
[2021/07/24 11:01] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2021/07/24 11:02] Almut Brunswick: I'm afraid we cannot to more right now. Shall we close that topic for today?
[2021/07/24 11:02] Almut Brunswick: do*
[2021/07/24 11:02] Tor Karlsvalt: yes
[2021/07/24 11:02] Almut Brunswick: ok
[2021/07/24 11:02] Almut Brunswick: 6.3 Reform of the CDS Land Use Commission (LUC)
[2021/07/24 11:02] Almut Brunswick: (the never ending story...)
[2021/07/24 11:03] Rosie Gray: yes
[2021/07/24 11:03] Almut Brunswick: Rosie pointed me - and the SC - on the fact that there is already a law that defines the duration of discussion times. I thus updated the paragraph in the draft accordingly.
[2021/07/24 11:04] Almut Brunswick: 4 Public Information and Discourse Policy
[...]
(B) The duration of comment periods in the CDS Forums is defined in § 2 CDSL 34-02.
[2021/07/24 11:04] Almut Brunswick: This is the Transparent Region Development Act
[2021/07/24 11:05] Almut Brunswick: So I think that point could be closed and the second recommendation of the SC fulfilled.
[2021/07/24 11:06] Almut Brunswick: Now we still have this first recommendation that only one RA member should become member of the LUC.
[2021/07/24 11:06] Almut Brunswick: There was a long discussion about it in the past, partly very emotionally.
[2021/07/24 11:08] Almut Brunswick: With the perspective of today and the shrinking base of volunteering citizens, I think we need to find a compromise that considers the SC's concerns, but also allows to fully populate the LUC with members.
[2021/07/24 11:09] Almut Brunswick: Before Tan left last term, he proposed to limit the seating RA members to two in the LUC.
[2021/07/24 11:10] Almut Brunswick: I picked up that proposal, but in order to emphasize the character of a makeshift solution, I would like to give volunteering citizens a preference
[2021/07/24 11:10] Almut Brunswick: So I propose to change the draft as follows: 5. Not more than two sitting RA member shall serve on the LUC at any given time, and that only when not any other volunteering citizens can be appointed.
[2021/07/24 11:10] Almut Brunswick: Done.
[2021/07/24 11:11] Rosie Gray: /me raises a hand
[2021/07/24 11:11] Almut Brunswick: Rosie please
[2021/07/24 11:12] Rosie Gray: I agree that we have to be practical
[2021/07/24 11:12] Rosie Gray: I would suggest that we add something about the size of the RA too
[2021/07/24 11:12] Rosie Gray: so that we don't have an RA of 3 with 2 being on the LUC
[2021/07/24 11:13] Almut Brunswick: hmm
[2021/07/24 11:13] Rosie Gray: right now we have an RA of 4, so I think that would be okay
[2021/07/24 11:13] Rosie Gray: well, 'legally' the RA is 5
[2021/07/24 11:13] Almut Brunswick: sure
[2021/07/24 11:13] Rosie Gray: so an RA of 4 or 5 with up to 2 being appointed to LUC wouldn't upset the balance
[2021/07/24 11:14] Rosie Gray: if you see what I mean
[2021/07/24 11:14] Almut Brunswick: well, but when focusing on the LUC itself, even 2 RA members there won't disturb the balance, because there are all the other delegates who still will keep the majority.
[2021/07/24 11:15] Almut Brunswick: regardless how the size of the RA is
[2021/07/24 11:16] Rosie Gray: I am thinking though of an imbalance between the LUC members of the RA
[2021/07/24 11:16] Lilith Ivory: /me raises her hand
[2021/07/24 11:16] Almut Brunswick: Lilith please
[2021/07/24 11:16] Tor Karlsvalt: /me raises hand
[2021/07/24 11:16] Lilith Ivory: In general I like your proposal Almut ...
[2021/07/24 11:17] Lilith Ivory: but I also agree with Rosie thomething about RA size should be added ..
[2021/07/24 11:18] Lilith Ivory: as when there are only three RA members and two of them in the LUC than the LUC doesn´t need to consult the RA at all as they would have the majority
[2021/07/24 11:18] Rosie Gray: yes, exactly
[2021/07/24 11:19] Almut Brunswick: Tor please
[2021/07/24 11:19] Tor Karlsvalt: Just a couple of things that come to mind.
[2021/07/24 11:19] Tor Karlsvalt: I think they RA should be limited to one rep.
[2021/07/24 11:20] Tor Karlsvalt: And if it has two reps, then the chancellor should be allowed to appoint another in order to preserve balance between the RA and he exec.
[2021/07/24 11:20] Tor Karlsvalt: three, the LUC is not ellected but appointed. Now with all of us not having to go through elections this might not matter.
[2021/07/24 11:21] Tor Karlsvalt: But if we were, then I think an LUC with so much power would be frowned upon.
[2021/07/24 11:21] Tor Karlsvalt: done
[2021/07/24 11:22] Rosie Gray: /me raises a hand
[2021/07/24 11:23] Almut Brunswick: Rosie please
[2021/07/24 11:23] Rosie Gray: thank you
[2021/07/24 11:23] Rosie Gray: Tor you make some good points
[2021/07/24 11:23] Rosie Gray: but one thing I don't agree with is about the Chancellor
[2021/07/24 11:24] Rosie Gray: because, ultimately, the Chancellor has the say anyway
[2021/07/24 11:24] Rosie Gray: so having one or two appointments from the Chancellor wouldn't really make any difference, and would just add a burden of that person to find someone else to fill the role
[2021/07/24 11:24] Rosie Gray: so I don't think that needs to be a consideration, myself
[2021/07/24 11:25] Tor Karlsvalt: Raises hand
[2021/07/24 11:25] Lilith Ivory: /me raises hand after Tor
[2021/07/24 11:25] Rosie Gray: done
[2021/07/24 11:25] Almut Brunswick: (Reminder in between: we are breaking our heads about all that BECAUSE we have issue to find ENOUGH people)
[2021/07/24 11:25] Almut Brunswick: Tor, then Lilith
[2021/07/24 11:25] Tor Karlsvalt: thanks
[2021/07/24 11:26] Tor Karlsvalt: I agree finding more reps to achieive balance would be burdensome
[2021/07/24 11:26] Tor Karlsvalt: But I do think balance is important.
[2021/07/24 11:27] Tor Karlsvalt: To I am at my first point. We should only have one RA rep. Make it simple.
[2021/07/24 11:27] Tor Karlsvalt: done
[2021/07/24 11:27] Almut Brunswick: Thank you. Lilith
[2021/07/24 11:28] Lilith Ivory: I don´t think it is a good idea to add one more rep to the LUC as we already have problems to find six
[2021/07/24 11:28] Almut Brunswick: nods!
[2021/07/24 11:28] Lilith Ivory: and it does not really matter if we get two elected citizens ore just one while the chancellor appoints the second citizen as her second rep
[2021/07/24 11:29] Lilith Ivory: if that makes sense :)
[2021/07/24 11:29] Lilith Ivory: done
[2021/07/24 11:29] Almut Brunswick: Thank you
[2021/07/24 11:30] Almut Brunswick: Once again: We are not talking about ideal situations or thoughtfully balanced circles. We are talking to steer the ship named CDS with lesser and lesser people.
[2021/07/24 11:31] Tor Karlsvalt: /me sighs
[2021/07/24 11:32] Almut Brunswick: When we don't have enough people for a fully complemented LUC, this NGO cannot work as it should. And when we just delegate people there "with sugar bread and whip" as we say in German, then we don't have the most dedicated people there.
[2021/07/24 11:33] Almut Brunswick: So I'm asking for a *pragmatic* makeshift solution that takes into consideration that the RA doesn't dominate the LUC, but that not the RA AND the LUC will suffer under the lack of volunteers.
[2021/07/24 11:33] Almut Brunswick: Done.
[2021/07/24 11:33] Tor Karlsvalt: /me nods
[2021/07/24 11:35] Almut Brunswick: Ideally, the RA should not dominate the function of the LUC that shall advise the RA - we would then advise ourselves :D
[2021/07/24 11:35] Tor Karlsvalt: :)
[2021/07/24 11:35] Rosie Gray: :)
[2021/07/24 11:36] Almut Brunswick: Therefore this clause: Allow a second RA but only when there is nobody else willing to go to the LUC. This term, we have enough people for the LUC, but that was luck. Next term, it could be already different. Shall we leave that seat empty then?
[2021/07/24 11:36] Almut Brunswick: Done.
[2021/07/24 11:37] Rosie Gray: /me raises a hand
[2021/07/24 11:38] Second Life: Now playing: Dominig Bouchaud, Hervé Barreau - L'art de la harpe à la renaissance - Diferencias sobra la gallarda milanesa [88S]
[2021/07/24 11:38] Almut Brunswick: Rosie please
[2021/07/24 11:38] Rosie Gray: that is what it comes down to
[2021/07/24 11:38] Rosie Gray: leaving a seat unfilled
[2021/07/24 11:38] Rosie Gray: which, to be honest isn't really that bad
[2021/07/24 11:38] Tor Karlsvalt: /me nods
[2021/07/24 11:38] Rosie Gray: the only bad thing would be if there is someone on the RA who wants to be on the LUC but can't
[2021/07/24 11:38] Rosie Gray: so this is what it comes down to
[2021/07/24 11:39] Lilith Ivory: /me raises her hand
[2021/07/24 11:39] Rosie Gray: I feel that it would be too bad for someone who wants to serve not be allowed to
[2021/07/24 11:39] Rosie Gray: while we can still keep a balance
[2021/07/24 11:39] Rosie Gray: done
[2021/07/24 11:39] Almut Brunswick: Lilith please.
[2021/07/24 11:40] Lilith Ivory: just a reminder that all citizens are always welcome the come to LUC meetings and give input or volunteer to help with something
[2021/07/24 11:40] Tor Karlsvalt: /me nods.
[2021/07/24 11:40] Lilith Ivory: the only thing you need to be a LUC ,ember for is to vote - and the LUC doesn´t have much to vote on anyway :)
[2021/07/24 11:40] Lilith Ivory: done
[2021/07/24 11:40] Almut Brunswick: Thank you
[2021/07/24 11:41] Rosie Gray: this is true
[2021/07/24 11:42] Almut Brunswick: Well, I disagree with Rosie in the point that it doesn't matter much when a LUC remains empty. It also means that a voice is missing and opinion is not heard. We already had a couple of people in the LUC who attended the meetings silently and for the sake of the community, but not because of personal dedication.
[2021/07/24 11:43] Rosie Gray: /me raises a hand
[2021/07/24 11:43] Almut Brunswick: When you still take the role of the LUC serious, we as the RA should take care to do our share keeping this institution workable.
[2021/07/24 11:43] Almut Brunswick: Done.
[2021/07/24 11:44] Rosie Gray: As Lilith points out, anyone can attend the meetings and voice their opinions
[2021/07/24 11:44] Rosie Gray: the only thing they couldn't do is vote
[2021/07/24 11:45] Rosie Gray: so again it comes down to the official balance of things
[2021/07/24 11:45] Rosie Gray: done
[2021/07/24 11:45] Almut Brunswick: Thank you.
[2021/07/24 11:47] Almut Brunswick: Well, now I could say: When there are so few things to be voted upon, what is the issue to accept a second RA member? I admit that this is a quite academic question under the given circumstances.
[2021/07/24 11:48] Rosie Gray: /me notes the time
[2021/07/24 11:49] Almut Brunswick: I would prefer to give a second RA (= "makeshift" for a missing citizen delegate) the same vote rights, but I'm afraid we cannot come to a conclusion here today.
[2021/07/24 11:49] Almut Brunswick: yes, you are right, Rosie.
[2021/07/24 11:50] Almut Brunswick: One last thing: This clause to exclude the chancellor from the LUC is surplus in my opinion, becaus eit is said in the law that the LUC serves to advice the chancellor... so he/she would become his/her own "servant" then
[2021/07/24 11:51] Almut Brunswick: Anyway... I think we should address the good arguments of today in the Forum.
[2021/07/24 11:51] Almut Brunswick: so that we can finally conclude the discussion about the LUC law and vote for it.
[2021/07/24 11:52] Almut Brunswick: Done.
[2021/07/24 11:52] Almut Brunswick: Any further statements yet?
[2021/07/24 11:52] Lilith Ivory: /me has an announcement to make :)
[2021/07/24 11:52] Almut Brunswick: 8: Announcements :D
[2021/07/24 11:53] Lilith Ivory: not sure if you tabled this too lol
[2021/07/24 11:53] Almut Brunswick: Lilith please
[2021/07/24 11:53] Almut Brunswick: nope
[2021/07/24 11:53] Lilith Ivory: I would like to give we a heads-up that a by-election census will be taken next friday
[2021/07/24 11:53] Lilith Ivory: done
[2021/07/24 11:54] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, Lilith. I assume you will announce it in the Forum as well.
[2021/07/24 11:54] Lilith Ivory: I am not the dean :)
[2021/07/24 11:54] Almut Brunswick: /me faints
[2021/07/24 11:54] Lilith Ivory: as soon as the census is taken the cancellor will post the citizen list
[2021/07/24 11:54] Almut Brunswick: ok
[2021/07/24 11:55] Tor Karlsvalt: Sorry if am a bit distracted I just got a phone call
[2021/07/24 11:55] Almut Brunswick: Oh, Tor, Lilith just said you will become the Chancellor because of the by-election.
[2021/07/24 11:55] Lilith Ivory: hehehe
[2021/07/24 11:56] Almut Brunswick: So nothing serious. We will buy you a kimono with Hawaiian pattern
[2021/07/24 11:56] Tor Karlsvalt: huh?
[2021/07/24 11:56] Tor Karlsvalt: /me runs
[2021/07/24 11:56] Lilith Ivory: lol
[2021/07/24 11:56] Tor Karlsvalt: hehe
[2021/07/24 11:56] Almut Brunswick: cackels
[2021/07/24 11:56] Rosie Gray: lol
[2021/07/24 11:56] Almut Brunswick: Ok, back to the Agenda
[2021/07/24 11:56] Almut Brunswick: 9. Next RA meeting
[2021/07/24 11:56] Lilith Ivory: atm we don´t have a reason for this census besides the law that says we need one at the last friday of july :)
[2021/07/24 11:57] Almut Brunswick: SInce I will be off to holidays in the first two weeks of August, I propose Saturday, August 14, for the next RA meeting
[2021/07/24 11:58] Tor Karlsvalt: Should be ok.
[2021/07/24 11:58] Almut Brunswick: same time or half an hour later, Tor?
[2021/07/24 11:58] Rosie Gray: right now it's okay for me, but I might not be available
[2021/07/24 11:58] Rosie Gray: don't know yet
[2021/07/24 11:58] Almut Brunswick: or shall we move it one week further, Rosie?
[2021/07/24 11:59] Tor Karlsvalt: Sometimes I have OT on Sat, but I think I can get out by 10AM.
[2021/07/24 11:59] Rosie Gray: 21st for sure is fine for me
[2021/07/24 11:59] Almut Brunswick: Tor?
[2021/07/24 11:59] Tor Karlsvalt: sure
[2021/07/24 11:59] Almut Brunswick: Then let's fix the 21th
[2021/07/24 12:00] Almut Brunswick: Till then, I encourage you to participate on the LUC Act discussion in order to get finished a version we can vote for
[2021/07/24 12:00] Rosie Gray: what time on the 21st?
[2021/07/24 12:00] Rosie Gray: 10 am?
[2021/07/24 12:00] Almut Brunswick: 10:00 AM SLT
[2021/07/24 12:01] Rosie Gray: okay
[2021/07/24 12:01] Tor Karlsvalt: okay
[2021/07/24 12:01] Almut Brunswick: Ok, then I declare this meeting as adjourned. Thank you for the vivid discussion!
