CDS wins debate

Post by Beathan »

Today, the four official Parties shared their general positions and visions for the CDS community in a debate and question/answer session. Each party was represented by a candidate for the RA: Bromo Ivory for CARE; Patroklus Murakami for the CDFS; Pelanor Eldrich for the DPU; and Beathan Vale for the SP.

Each candidate showed how their Party was different from the other Parties in policy and approach to policy. The citizens who asked questions asked insightful and probing questions -- all of which were answered well by the various candidates.

Among the clear points showing that the CDS won the debate:

1. all Factions were allowed to participate, including the DPU, allowing for the broadest and best possible representation of ideas and interests in the debate.

2. the representatives clearly presented their ideas, courageously highlighting the differences between the parties, while not dishonestly claiming for themselves goals or ideas that are shared among the parties;

3. all participants avoided personal attacks and juvenile playground expressions of mutual contempt; and

4. all participants praised the CDS community, and its more outstanding members, for the work we have done as individuals and collectively as citizens.

Primary credit for the victory of the CDS in the debate, in contrast with past debates, must go, in large part, to Bromo Ivory -- whose presentation was fair to all participants and was clearly expressed in plain language and without wasted renditions of his personal biography. However, the victory of the CDS would not have been possible without the efforts and mutual respect shown by all parties and audience members.
