Meeting called to order at 0923 SLT
Members present: Dean Lilith Ivory, Aliasi Stonebender, RG Cooperstone
Agenda was approved
Previous minutes were approved
Discussion of upcoming dates for elections and asked for volunteers to project dates.
Dean requested volunteers for Government Question Hour sessions. This led to discussion about the newly passed amendment to NL 7-1 having not been posted to the website or sent to the Dean. Decision was made to stay with original schedule until the amendment is posted.
Discussion from the floor concerning the malware/adware on the forum.
Next meeting was discussed, and tentatively set for the weekend of 15 October.
Ivory moved to adjourn at 1014 SLT. Voted aye unanimously.

Lilith Ivory: and so I am calling for volunteers to figure out the next few sets of election dates

Lilith Ivory: and I can´t do meetings this late normally

RG Cooperstone : so next week?
Lilith Ivory: you can pick any day and time that fits you during this week
Lilith Ivory: all you need to do is to send out a group note 24h before

RG Cooperstone : I'll take a whack at the week of the 26th
Aliasi Stonebender: hard for me to commit ahead of time since my schedule is variable.
Aliasi Stonebender: I can pencil in that november.
RG Cooperstone : I'm going out of town on business tomorrow for a go-live, but I should be back by then
Lilith Ivory: I can imagine as it is hard for me too to know already what I might be doing in november

Lilith Ivory: just mark those week in your calendars and pick a day and time during this week
Rosie Gray: ahem... sorry to interrupt again, but the new law now says we only have to have a Gov't question hour once a month
Lilith Ivory: I don´t think it´s necessary to know the exact time and day already
Lilith Ivory: I am not sure the law affects this term already
Lilith Ivory: what do my fellow SC members think?
Aliasi Stonebender: Eh. I don't know why it WOULDN'T effect this term.
RG Cooperstone : if we're going to be sticklers for procedure, has the new law been sent to the chair?
Lilith Ivory: ok I don´t object

RG Cooperstone : Granted, the RA may need to appoint a new archivist
Lilith Ivory: I do think we have to follow the old procedures till the new one is posted at the portal and the dean has been informed it is official now
Aliasi Stonebender: that is true.
Lilith Ivory: it´s dangerous to work with laws that are not published
RG Cooperstone : Either way, we can have more meetings than is mandated, right?
Lilith Ivory: yes of course
Lilith Ivory: nobody would hinder us to have one every day
RG Cooperstone : and for the record, I hope Han gets some rest and heals up quickly.

Lilith Ivory: I would suggest we just stick with the QH schedule we have at the moment ...
Lilith Ivory: and if the new procedure gets official we can cancel the meetings any time

RG Cooperstone : I suspect they may be related
Lilith Ivory: before I was thinking it was my crapy ole computer who did that to me lol

Rosie Gray: almost every time I click on a link in the forums, it opens another window with 'no ad'
Lilith Ivory: not being a geek myself there is nothing I can do besides hoping Gwyn will have a look at this problem
RG Cooperstone : I saw that the popup was for adware of somesort, and I think it might be from the plug-in, since nothing else on the forum is commercial
Lilith Ivory: I have the same Rosie - but had firefox under suspect

RG Cooperstone : I got it in Chrome, and Firefox, and IE
Rosie Gray: yes I agree Coop, it is related to the plug-in which doesn't seem to be set up properly
Rosie Gray: maybe just removing it would be best
Rosie Gray: is Gwyn the only one that has access to the code?
Lilith Ivory looks over to Aliasi hoping for more info about that question
RG Cooperstone : Since it is on her personal machine, it is probably easiest for her, unless she has it set up for a dial-in or remote desktop
Aliasi Stonebender: So far as I know, it's Gwyn's box. We just moderate it.
RG Cooperstone : Yup

Aliasi Stonebender: yeah, she's been less and less involved, if she wants to cut bait we might want to look into another arrangement, I agree.
RG Cooperstone : Especially after the old server went toes up.

RG Cooperstone : yes, but the fact remains it is on a private box

RG Cooperstone : Yes. As long as we do it on a regular basis, we should be good
Rosie Gray: have you got a backup of the code for how the forum is set up too, Lilith? or just the database?
Lilith Ivory: I backup "ALL" once a month
Lilith Ivory: no clue what all means and not being able to open it on my mac
RG Cooperstone : Have we ever done a restore somewhere?
Lilith Ivory: and not being into this kind of things I would not know what it is even if I could
Rosie Gray: it might be only the database
Lilith Ivory: I have no clue
RG Cooperstone : I want to make sure the backup works
RG Cooperstone : We can talk about it later Lil. If you can tell me the file extension, I can figure out what it is
Lilith Ivory: I still need help to figure out how to upload those files at our google website
Rosie Gray: I can help with that
Lilith Ivory: it´s a litttle more then 90mb unstuffed
Rosie Gray: and if it doesn't work, then Dropbox might be better

RG Cooperstone : Having had to deal with bad backup files with a client, I would like to be safe while things are working
