I would like to see the LUC's discussion of this matter. Hopefully the March 3 transcript will appear soon.

I'd be Ok with Wanda... In that case, we'll need a sign with a fish as a symbol giving a notecard to visitor to explain the pun... which would otherwise be lost. XD
Even tho i think it's hopeless, I am still very fond of my original idea.. Stella Marina... Stella means star, and this new village is the star of colonia nova.. Stella Marina is actually starfish in Italian, but many sea villages have the word Marina , especially when there is an inland village that expands to the coast, the seaside town will include the word "marina" - like Diano Marina for example.
Besides, the word marina has a meaning in English too:

A marina (from Spanish [maˈɾina], Portuguese [maˈɾinɐ] and Italian [maˈriːna]: marina, "coast" or "shore") is a dock or basin with moorings and supplies for yachts and small boats. (wikipedia)

Other ideas could include the word Porto (It) or Puerto (Spanish). Porto Nuovo for example (New port). Definitely less romantic, but it goes with "colonia nova"....
OK and now... I'll shut up. I promise.

Thanks so much for your input, Laura. We'll discuss this again at the next Land Use Commission meeting, Sunday March 31st at 10 am slt. I do hope you can come, but if not we'll consider what you wrote here.
