This support info might be useful: https://my.bluehost.com/hosting/help/auto-ssl
And they're who we're already using?

If so, according to this page SSL is included for free. Presumably all we'd need to do is set it up.

Re: The need for a current SSL certificate for the website

I've talked to Bags inworld about this. I'm going to put aside funds for this in the budget and if they get used, great. if not ...more money in the coffers. 8) Installing them is a hassle, and judging from my talk with Mizou, I think she doesn't feel there's a need. When the complaints come in, I'l...

Re: The need for a current SSL certificate for the website

I don't web, so I'm having to google stuff -and won't get very far with it. Let's encrypt is free (I think?), but needs to be renewed every thing months -and may have wonkiness when paired with cloudflare. I saw a post on reddit's webdev forum mentioning this site: https://www.ssls.com/ It has a ran...

If we need to have an SSL certificate for the website, then are we looking at one for the forums too?
Anything that we want to be able to load in folks' web browsers, should have a certificate.

Re: The need for a current SSL certificate for the website

The reason we need one is because browsers will be expecting them -as Bags' link explains, and will not load the page without them. This creates a very bad impression on folks who we're trying to win over. I would suggest taking a look at "letsencrypt" and seeing if it's possible to use that -it's a...

Re: The need for a current SSL certificate for the website

This issue was mentioned previously, but I don't guess anything is being actively done to resolve it. http://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8511&p=47107#p47107 I've mentioned it to Mizou. I won't be handing out links to cdsdemocracy.org for one simple reason; ...when people click on the link...

Re: Call for Agenda items - Next RA meeting is June 18th at 10am

Please, for the love of god change the name of that, at the very least! :p It's more accurate to call it something along the lines of "The Region Divestment Act", since that's the primary focus of it. :) 10am SLT is 9am AKST -I doubt that I will be able to attend, although I will try. If I can't att...

Re: Initial RA Meeting

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to be at a doctor's appointment then so I won't be able to attend. I didn't realize the two overlapped until I looked at the calendar today -I'm sorry for the inconvenience. My best wishes and congratulations to the 29th RA, however. I'm looking forward to serving y...

Re: Leaving CDS

I would love to see the Monastery project continue and am willing to pay the tier. That is wonderful and very generous of you, Ranma -thank you! I'm not sure where to go from here. Personally I suggest having some sort of meeting with (at the least) the LRA -whoever that ends up being- to decide wh...

Crap! It's almost midnight and I forgot that I'd set the meeting up for today ...I've been thinking I set it for Tuesday.

I'm sorry!

I'm going to try for Weds the 30th instead.

Re: Leaving CDS

Hi, Arria :) In the mid 2000's there was a comedy series called "Dead Like Me". It was about "reapers", as in "grim reapers". In the show, when someone died they had to be 'reaped'. In the 1st or 2nd episode the main character didn't want to do this -she thought if she didn't "reap" them, then they ...

Re: Our SL15B Application

Just a reminder, that day is Memorial Day in the USA. Thanks -that had slipped my mind. I'd like to get the ball rolling no later than the 2nd if possible -but if anyone wants to be involved with the planning and can't make it on the 28th I'd be happy to hold a second meeting. Just let me know (pre...

Re: Our SL15B Application

We've been accepted! Here's the pasta I made inworld; We're going to be a part of the 15th anniversary celebration of Second Life! If all goes well, I will receive our parcel on the 25th; we will have until June 14th to complete our exhibit. We will be working on a 32x32 space; traditionally I confi...

I have never thought of her as a child, just small in stature.
Do you mean me? For the most part I'm not "roleplaying" at the CDS -I'm just chilling out. But I prefer to have a younger looking avi.

Of course sometimes I'm a cat too, but not at the cds (not recently, at least)....
