RA Transcript?

I think that the RA met a week ago today. I'm not sure whose responsibility it is, but can we see the transcript, please?

Re: What is "Commercial" for Zoning Purposes?

I agree with Rosie, and I definitely am no fan of the building in question. However, to go back after all this time and tell someone they can no longer have the building that they have been allowed to have for literally YEARS is perilously close to eminent domain, at least in how heavy-handed it is....

Re: CDS Citizenship --- yet again!

That half of a sentence out of a three paragraph post was not the point I was attempting to make. So I shall try again. What I was saying is that I don't think it's right to require that one must be a landowner in order to vote. I think more flexible citizenship requirements should be considered. Ho...

Re: CDS Citizenship --- yet again!

This should become an interesting debate. I realize CDS is not RL, but it is modeled after RL. In RL, renters can vote, and absolutely should be eligible to do so, so I'm not at all committed to the concept that one must own land in order to have the right to vote. I'll have to ponder this one after...

Re: What is "Commercial" for Zoning Purposes?

So pretty please let´s not make our SL and selling land in CDS more difficult as it is already. In my opinion we should: define commercial as "really trying to sell something" change most covenants so both commercial and residential are allowed. With exceptions for downtown NFS and CN where the 1th...

Re: What is "Commercial" for Zoning Purposes?

I agree with Kyoko. I don't see the term "commercial" being particularly relevant to CDS these days, much less needing a burdensome new definition. It's clear from this thread that there are "commercial" builds scattered all over CDS in "non-commercial" locations, and that no one seems to have issue...

Re: What is "Commercial" for Zoning Purposes?

Every single building you listed has a variance! If you proceed with the plan to define "commercial" so strictly (despite the opposition of the citizens that have posted so far), what is to stop a future chancellor from revoking all those variances? Again, I think serious consideration needs to be g...

Re: What is "Commercial" for Zoning Purposes?

Perhaps the LUC and/or RA should start with compiling a list of all current builds that might be affected by such a strict definition of "commercial". Sudane has already pointed out that one of hers would be. Would Pip and Naf's taverna Mexana Monica in AM be disallowed? After all, the covenant for ...

Re: What is "Commercial" for Zoning Purposes?

I totally agree with Sudane. If one reads back through the history of zoning laws in CDS (a forum search on the word "commercial" is a good start), they will see that the discussion about commercial zoning contemplated actual business being done there. There is even still a law on the law on the boo...

So are you proposing the CDS government search peoples homes for prohibited items?
Umm no, how did you come to that conclusion? I think we have more than enough government intrusiveness as it is!

Re: Environmental Enhancement Project

I agree, Madmax! It does make sense to wait and see what the new feature does and what we can do with it, and then make decisions (if any even need to be made).

And welcome to CDS and the forums! It's great to see a new citizen speak up in here. :)

Re: Environmental Enhancement Project

I think the less authoritarian approach would be to let citizens try the feature and then see what everyone thinks about it. Issuing a pre-emptive "NO" and speaking about "what we (whoever " we " is) will allow" does not sound welcoming, or representative of the citizens' views, for that matter. As ...
